Arcos Box

I'm a big fan of cargo boxes to free up interior space. I've owned a number of different roof top boxes. This is my first hitch mount box and I love it. Much easier access and also retains ability to use a roof box for skis or other cargo. I've found this box to be best utilized with duffle bags. You can easily fit 4ea medium/large sized duffle bags with other stuff on top of them. I bought this a few years ago at an insane deal and it's been well worth it.

Box looks good. The locking system would not lock without several tries to get the lock engaged. Took it on a trip and the lock quit working completely and I cannot remove the key. For this price, very disappointed in the quality.

Used this for the first time on a family road trip to Ocracoke, NC. It worked great and functioned like an extra external trunk for the trip. Here are some things I learned using this in my Tesla Model Y: - The max vertical weight you can use on my hitch was 160lbs. The box + platform comes to around 60, so that left about 100lbs of capacity left for cargo. My tip is to avoid putting dense things like a case of water in this. I put clothes, a stroller, and some miscellaneous stuff for my kids and dogs and hit the space constraint before hitting the weight limit. - I can open and close the trunk as normal with this on. There is also enough space between the box and trunk for you to stand between them and load things to or from the trunk. - Assembly was not very hard. Took me about 30 minutes to do unassisted. The only other thing that I needed besides the box and platform was a 7 pin to 4 pin adapter for the electric. - I didn’t do any testing, but I didn’t experience any drop in range when using it. Overall, I think this thing is built solidly and I’m quite happy with my purchase. I am excited to use this on a road trip to the Smokey’s later this summer and for many more road trips to come.

I like the size and the sturdiness of this box. Roomy. Easy to mount and use. I wish it was easier to press down and close all three of the latches. I also wish the mounting bracket (Hitch Platform) has the ability to change angles so that the box can be folded up/down.
