Report From Texas
It was 104 here in central Texas this afternoon. This was my first full day of using this handy little "swamp" water cooler. My study is separate from my house. Usually I can cool it with a single 5kBTU window air conditioner. Usually. But not in this beastly hot 104F Texas summer.I began my test of the JUDRT unit this morning about 10AM. My study is quite cluttered with shelves leaving only limited access from my trusty little window unit. My actual workspace is about 4 ft wide. allowing for a large office chair. There are shelves on one side and an antique wooden desk on the other. In front of me is my computer monitor table. There's just room for me there. I'm pretty much buried.I placed the little JUDRT cooler in a small space beside my monitor. After filling the water tank with about 2/3 of a QT of water, when I set the fan to the 2nd from last place, and turned the cooler fan on. I immediately felt it blowing very cool, although not "cold" air toward my face. This was the case for my entire morning-to-evening test. The most important part of my test occurred when my little study began to heat-soak in late afternoon. While the rest of the room was stuffy, my sort-of enclosed workspace stayed comfortably cool.My conclusion is if you have a similar small workspace this little cooler will definitely do a good job. The unit itself works well. The controls are logical. The mode light turns itself off when the water tank needs refilling (as it needs as I right this).Overall, I'm quite pleased with this little "swamp" cooler. Honestly, I don't think it is suitable as a room cooler---at least not in 104F Texas. But if you have a small workspace like I do, I can say that the JUDRT cooler provided me with a comfortable place to work for an entire day. Highly recommend!

It's a fan, albeit a nifty one
Try this: take a shower, and instead of drying off with a towel, stand in front of a fan. That's roughly what this fan does when the cooling setting is on. It won't necessarily cool an entire room so much as make a spot feel a little less hot, or help it maintain a cooler temperature for a longer period of time before the a/c kicks on.If you live in a dry climate, this may work for you if you position it right on you - we're talking 2 to 3 feet away - or use it in a very small room, like a bathroom. I definitely notice the extra moisture in the air, but as I live in a very dry area this is a good thing. It lasts only an hour or two on the high settings. I think it's gone 5-6 hours on the low setting without a refill. I'm not quite sure but I think once the water runs out it defaults to the plain fan setting, not the cooling settings. You can see the mist coming out. The timer feature is handy so I can set it to shut off roughly when I expect the water to run out. What I like: it's lightweight and so easy to transport. It's pretty quiet on the lowest setting, but even the higher settings are tolerable. It makes a good white noise machine. The water compartment is on the top, making it easy to fill. You don't have to dissemble anything to fill it or move it around the house. It does make decent breezes given the small size, though not as much as an oscillating fan. What I don't like: it says to add ice for extra cooling but there is hardly any room for it. I wish this came with ice packs or a remote control or had an oscillating function, given the high price. I found that freezing water in silicone muffin liners (pictured) works really well as they are easy to remove and plop into the water chamber. The bigger chunks of ice last longer. The LED light is very small and not really noticeable, particularly because the power and setting lights are very bright and piercing. I can't enjoy watching the LED light change because the other lights are so annoying. I may need to put painter's tape over the setting lights at night.I also had a problem with the cooler stopping the misting feature after a week. I noticed that the setting was still on cooling after 8+ hours and noticed the water level had not dropped. A few days later, it still had not dropped and no mist was coming out. The plug end was also VERY hot after running for a few hours. The vendor quickly sent a replacement, and I'm hoping that the first one was just a dud.

First time using this little air cooler
Received it and finally used it it’s got the water that goes on the top. It’s great but the handles are kind of flimsy. I tried it for a couple of hours and it would keep things cool, but I’m looking for something a little bit bigger in the future good for small spaces interesting design could maybe do better coverings in the top part of where you put the water tanks we can’t can’t get into the electrical but for the price you can understand. Great concept look forward to anything in the future. That might be a similar products but even more improved.
