Works well, thoughtful design.
I bought this one because it includes a belt for better load distribution. Although to be honest I have not yet needed to use the belt. I also felt for the features offered it was (is) a good value. In use the shoulder straps are comfortable, and easily adjustable. The included "emergency" whistle is a nice idea, but actually not very useful or loud.I got the black / grey model, in hindsight, maybe, I should have gotten a bright color like orange, so it would be easier for my wife to see me as I hike ahead of her.A week of hiking in Iceland, this pack was very handy. It allowed me to carry everything I needed and it is designed to carry my trekking poles on the outside. These poles were an absolute must for this old hiker on rocky terrain.A month of cruising then hiking in Europe, I found this pack to be handy again, a good size to carry our days worth of supplies (and trekking poles). The exterior "mesh" pockets are perfect for carrying 2 water bottles.I also found it useful on our flight home, we were gifted a bottle of local wine (In Rome). I feared the bottle may not live thru airline baggage handling, so I put it in the waterproof compartment of this backpack prior to packing in our checked luggage. The good news is the wine bottle did not break, but the waterproof compartment did offer me some peace of mind. Finally since this pack stores within itself, it makes putting it away after use easy. Fitting in its "own" pocket (bag) makes it easy not to lose the storage bag, and this "bag" has a handle / loop I can clip to something.

Really cool and functional backpack.
I used this pack when I was working as a canvasser. Spending all day outside I was so appreciative of all the storage. The wet bag and water proof material made rainy days much easier. The star pattern is precious, too!Definitely comfortable and durable. The detachable fanny pack is a killer feature too! Especially if you use it for work and want to keep valuables close.

Useful daypack
I bought this last year and used it hard. Comfortable and durable. A plus is the orange color which helps differentiate you from game. Lots of compartments and places for water bottles

Nice Backpack for the Money
This worked out great for my first real hiking trip. It's super lightweight which is what I was looking for bc the bag was being packed into luggage for the flight out. The material is thin and it can be folded into it's own pocket which is great for what I needed but maybe not the right fit for some serious back country hiking. I didn't have any trouble with it but I would probably want a thicker, more canvas-like pack for that use. It's got great storage & organization features but not too many pockets that you lose things. Built in wet bag is a great feature. Love the idea of the removable fanny pack. Haven't tried that yet but it's a nice bonus. I was in and out of this bag all day everyday for a week long hiking trip. Had it packed full, and it held up fine. Zippers are smooth and I'm overall pleased with it. Only real complaint is the shoulder strap padding could be beefier. But for the price point, I can't really even complain about that. I got the green and was worried it may look weird in person but it's pretty true to the picture. Would buy again.

Pleasantly surprised by this backpack
I’m pretty picky about my backpacks and this one was a pleasant surprise. Highly affordable, compact but with lots of space, multiple pockets with different types of organization, nicely padded straps and back and of course the addition of hip and shoulder stabilizing straps. You can’t beat it for this price! I used this as a day pack on our recent road trip so I wouldn’t be carrying a cross-body bag through museums with all my kid’s stuff killing my back and hips and it was brilliant. I didn’t have any trouble with sore spots or items poking through uncomfortably despite the collapsible nature of the bag and the additional straps above the exterior water bottle holders kept even my tall double-walled bottles from falling out. I’ve been using it as a day pack ever since and would buy another one in a heartbeat if this one was damaged. I’ve gotten compliments and had other users recognize the brand and say they love theirs too! Definitely a winner.

Super light
Was looking for a lightweight, versatile day pack as most of my backpacks were pretty heavy empty. Decided to give this a try. Plenty of compartments, spacious water bottle pockets, elastic area on the front for clothes or whatnot, and best yet a dry pocket! it was very comfortable for my hike. I went with orange for visibility and am pleased with my choice. The trade off is that it doesn't have a whole lot of cushion esp. on the bottom, but a towel or some ponchos packed right will take care of that. For size comparisons I am 5' tall and while I would say this is a full sized bag I don't feel overwhelmed by size. So far it's 5 stars.

Perfect backpack for single adult weekend getaway
The media could not be loaded. The 40L capacity backpack from Savvy Nomad serves me well this seasons as my previous one was a little too small.I have been using it almost every weekend in the past 4 months and found no issues. I’m still surprised how much weight can handle after couple times I managed to fit in all my personal necessities for a weekend camping/portaging with the canoe and packed small tent, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, foldable chair all strapped on the outside of the bag. It helps to have good light weight gear for portaging. The bag is roomy in main compartment and the additional zippered pockets are fairly large to fit normal stuff like shoes, garments, gadgets, 1st aid kit etc. the dry pouch is sealed and zippered it holds wet swimming shorts safe and separate from the rest of contents in the bag. Fits in dirty hiking boots or crocs. The shoulder carrying straps are padded, but it could have extra padding for improvements when the bag is fully loaded. The detachable waste pack is perfect size for documents phones, medicines, charging cables etc. it looks slim but can actually fit a lot.Overall, the back back is build strong, good stitching all around, and quality materials, resist in the rain to some extend. Can be used for camping, day trips hiking, carryon flights or as ski backpack and can fit in clothing for a weekend. Good value and I recommend it. Thanks

Light weight 3 day backpack for short trips.
Many compartments are quite convenient for most items. Weight 650 grams including belt bag. Perfect for using as a carry on item or just using it as backup. It can be folded into an inner zipped pocket. The little package is about 6”x6”x3” for storage.40 L capacity is enough for a 3 day short trip.Highly recommend it.

Note: This is lightweight
This truly is a lightweight bag. It folds up and packs into a small pouch that is about 6" (15cm) by 4" (10cm) plus the waist bag. I used this to bring a small quantity of groceries home the other day when I didn't have a bag with me. In the photo, I have 6 liters of soda and 15 packages of ramen noodles and it was totally maxed out for weight and volume. See the 11" foot next to it for a size comparison.I appreciate that it folds up small into a little zipped pouch and is a great addition for a light hike or when you don't have a lot of space or don't want a stiff bag. The straps are comfortable and I've used it several times now for different short trips of a couple of hours. It is not designed for rugged use such as for airplane carry on, travel luggage, school bag, or a gym bag. It won't with stand that constant abuse. For a day hike or bike ride to the farmer's market, sure. The waist bag is comfortable and fits an adult waist. It has three pockets that will hold small amounts of cash or bank cards.Overall, for a lightweight bag, this works well and is comfortable with breathable padding and a good chest strap.

Fantastic bag for backpacking
This came in 2 parts. A backpack and a waist strap. The backpack is packed in a small zipped pouch with a handle measuring 6x6x4 inches. But when opened up, it reveals a 40 liter backpack. It is good to mote that the pouch is stitched unto the top of the inside of the bag so as not to loose it and it acts as a small pouch inside the bag too. Neat. I have a similar bag from a known brand and it beats having to store large bags. We all know the frustration too well. The material used is thick, sturdy, and durable. They are not like flimsy materials used to make umbrellas, etc. Made of water and tear-resistant nylon fabric. Similar to plastic. The zippers glide well and do not snag.Front elastic bungee for external storage for quick access of certain items or items which you do mot want to be inside your bag. Manufacturer/seller failed to mention this in their ad.Has a couple of pockets/compartments:A small single-zipped pocket, a double-zipped middle compartment, (with a few small pockets), and the main compartment (with one open topped pocket in addition).A large zipped wet pocket at the back. Great for wet clothes. I would have preferred it to be in front but it is what it is. Thick material prevents water from entering main compartment.2 side mesh pockets with elastic opening.Shoulder straps have breathable but minimally padded.Adjustable chest strap with buckle and an incorporated emergency whistle provides stability.Hip belt is the coolest part. It is detachable from the whole bag. It slides under a slit-like opening at the bottom and back of the bag. Has velcro to secure it, o once settled in a preferred place, you can detach it and still use it like a fanny pack. Has a 3 zipped pockets. The center pocket has an opening for wired earphones.Other small details are-Opening for hose of water bladder-4 adjustable side buckles to compress contents and prevent items in bag from shifting-An small opening for a wire to pass through (earphones or charging cable).-2 loops at the bottom to hang tools or can be used to hang the bag upside down to dry and remove dirtAnother great use for this is when traveling by plane. Keep this in your check-in luggage to pull out for excess baggage.Overall, a fantastic daypack bag. Very affordable at $45.99.
