Too much generalization and paints a false picture
As a nigerian, I was really excited about and wanted to like this book. I got it for my kids but really glad I paged through before giving it to them. This is going right back to amazon. I get that this is not supposed to be a comprehensive dive into the most populous nation in Africa, but i didn't expect the lack of care, inacuracies and generalizations either.First, if going by the pictures alone, most or all Nigerians live in villages and huts. There is not one picture depicting a modern structure or a city. There is no mention of any of the many metropolitan cities or even anything notable about Nigeria and Nigerians. According to the author, most Nigerian men have several wives, in school, boys learn how to hunt and fish and girls learn cooking, crafts and taking care of the sick. I am not quite sure where the author got her information, but the book is filled with such stereotypical generalizations. The author needs to do better. Bottomline: if you are looking for a book that is educational, accurate and current, this is not it. Keep looking.
