Great conclusion to an interesting series
Not an author i had heard of. My interest was peaked by him appearing as a contestant on The Chase game show.Probably not my normal genre either, however i found the seven book series quite addictive and thoroughly enjoyable. It encourages me to explore some of his other work.

Not a Happy Fairytale.
Charlie Higdon keeps you are the edge of your seat with all the terrifying encounters with the diseased enemy. You rejoice and cry with the children as you travel along side them as they experience the horrors and their losses. The happy moments are short lived but this isn't a ln apocalyptic fairy tale. The plot and the characters are well developed and the story line is written with so much detail that at times you feel a terrifying exhilaration.

walking dead as seen through kids eyes.
Best horror book series ever! I read all of them as they hit the book shelves. It was very hard to wait for the next installment. This is the first zombie series that I have ever read told by children and teens 16 years and under. Gruesome but all the kids seemed so hopeful. Lots of unexpected heroes. These kids kick butt. I'm 60 years old but absolutely enjoyed this teen series.

Expected more
Good, but not great. I really love this series, but was a little disappointed in this final book. The ending was a bit of a letdown, and whole thing seemed "rushed". Most of the chapters were short and lacking. I was really hoping this would be as great as the previous books but unfortunately it was not. So basically a bit of a let down.

Couldn't wait. I had it shipped straight from England.
I've been a huge fan of the series here in the United States and often purchased The Enemy series overseas from the UK so I might be a little biased. Higson has a great eye for details and it pours in his writing. I believe he had a great handle on the angst of the children and this novel shows it as well

Love this series!!!
I absolutely loved this series. I am planning on reading through it again. It seems to be geared more toward teens and young adults, but I am 45 years old and I love them.

Action Packed, Zombies, and Kids that aren't stupid
I"ll make this short and to the point. Great read to the very end. Could not have thought of a better ending . I like closure. To appreciate the ending you should read the entire series. You won't be dissapointed. It is a MG / YA book so don't expect extensive gore.

Good conclusion to the series
I have been reading this series for a couple of years and overall I have really enjoyed it. The End did what it was supposed to as a final book: bring all the characters together for one big, final battle against the sickos. However, for me, the novel needed a bit of fine-tuning.I liked the descriptions because of they were vivid and gory (just what you want from a post-apocalyptic book). There were a few surprises regarding character deaths which I liked. At times, I did feel as if the plot was just plodding along, with certain children trying to get everyone on the same side to fight the adults. I preferred the previous books because they switched around to different children's perspectives. Although The End did this, the plot just wasn't as riveting as the previous novels, perhaps because all the children were in one place with one aim, not all in different locations with different objectives. The ending was good in terms of short paragraphs focusing on different children but I feel short changed with it. I think an epilogue would have really enhanced the conclusion because it could be set a year or two after the great battle, explaining which children are where and what they are doing. The Enemy is a great series overall and although The End was good, it didn't completely satisfy with its conclusion. I would recommend this series to those who enjoy post-apocalyptic novels.

If you think the real world is a tough place to survive in!! - READ THIS WHOLE SERIES
It's hard to put into words how much this series has captivated me, and i am truly saddened that i have finished the final book. Every book in the series was packed with a powerful and engaging story.Charlie Higson has done a mind blowing job at creating this series. The way you could have a favorite character and something big happens involving them, whether it be getting to safety after a big fight, or being killed off / kidnapped by the sicko adults was just amazing, i've swapped fave characters so many times, i've even had characters i hated, but ended up liking. This is truly an amazing masterpiece.Highly recommend for all ages from Teen + (I'm an adult and i love this series)

Addictive
Read all 7 of these books one after the other, some bought on Amazon and some bought elsewhere. Recommended them to a friend who is now also hooked and to someone who usually only reads crime because it sounded so good. I know they are YA but there is some content that may not be entirely suitable depending on if you're happy with violence and bad language, but it's necessary. Addictive and exciting - only one thing I thought needed further explanation towards the end of this book but to avoid spoilers, I won't write it here and I think this still deserves 5*.

Gripping read but needed another chapter at the end
I have been reading this series on and off for the past 5 years, I discovered it by accident on a trip. Anyway it’s my few pages before bed book. Book 6 in the series I couldn’t put down and read really quickly so didn’t hesitate it downloading the final book. I really loved the way all the stories from the other books all finished today in a grand finale. However I wanted to know more, I wanted to know if relationships blossomed friendships rekindled. Another chapter at the end would have satisfied my craving more. It’s a great book though and I will be re reading the series.

One of the best series i've read
What a series... this is one of the best series i've read because iy makes me feel like i am expieriencing everything with the characters. I get all hyped up whenever a character I realy like does something awesome or enters in a cool way. Congrats to Higson for creating a masterpiece and writing a very satisfying ending to an amazing series.
