CF Martin 11DX1E-04 Dreadnought Semi Acoustic HPL Sit/Mah,w/gig bag

The media could not be loaded. I purchased the CF Martin DX1E-01 Dreadnought Semi-Acoustic guitar during the Great Festival Sale 2024 on Amazon for ₹40,000 with a bank offer, compared to its usual price of over ₹60,000. I was excited but initially disappointed when I received the Sitka Spruce top version instead of the all-mahogany guitar shown in the listing. The color discrepancy was frustrating, and I feel the seller should have posted the correct picture with the description.Packaging & Presentation:Despite the mix-up, the packaging was excellent. The guitar arrived in its original CF Martin box, looking like it came straight from the factory in Mexico, and was nearly in tune right out of the box. A thoughtful detail was that the strap nut came separately inside the gig bag, a precaution from CF Martin to prevent any damage to the wood or body during shipping.Tone & Electronics:After testing, my disappointment with the color started to fade. The tone and feel of this guitar are outstanding, especially for the price. The Fishman MX electronics perform well, even without an onboard EQ, and the tone knob provides enough variation for my needs. I’ll be EQ-ing through my mixer or DAW for live performances. Given the huge discount I got, the sound quality is more than satisfying.Playability & Build:The neckboard feels great, much better than any guitar I’ve played in the under-₹25K range. Although I didn’t get the all-mahogany version, the combination of the Sitka Spruce top with mahogany sides and back still delivers a rich, clear tone with excellent projection.Gig Bag & Additional Case:The gig bag included is pretty good, with decent padding and the CF Martin logo, though it only has a single shoulder strap like a sling bag. To ensure better protection, I also purchased a Bajaao case for around ₹4500 during the same sale, which was a solid addition to this great bundle.Replacement Issue:Unfortunately, when I contacted Amazon about the wrong version, they asked me to wait 4 days for an investigation into whether the product could be replaced. By the time they responded, the guitar was out of stock, so I couldn't get a replacement. Amazon did offer me a return and refund option, but I decided to keep the guitar. I wasn’t willing to risk losing such a great deal with a ₹20K discount!Final Thoughts (4 Stars):Though I’m giving this product 4 stars because of the poor representation and the hassle of not being able to get a replacement, I’m still happy with my purchase. The guitar plays beautifully, the tone is superb, and at ₹40,000, it’s an incredible deal. I’ll also be sharing a vision board of accessories I plan to buy to enhance this guitar experience. Just make sure to double-check the listing before purchasing to avoid the same mix-up I faced!
