Bosch detector Truvo (easy one-button handling, live cables & metal wall scanner)

I haven’t had to use this new detector as yet, but I previously borrowed the exact same model from a friend, and it was so easy & so reliable to use. And very helpful - showed unexpected metal work near drilling points. Instructions simple. Good ££ value. Very happy to recommend.

I’m really hyper critical with items like this because I’ve watched a lot of review videos and I’m very paranoid about drilling but this device works good enough for me to find metal. For some reason it doesn’t show me active power most times? But it’s great for me to find the metal containment inside my walls. Clesrly the more expensive ones will be much more accurate but this is great for home use

A recent home move resulted in needing to do various bits of DIY and drill into brick walls. I bought this to detect hidden pipes and electrical wires and it's proved its worth over and over.A previous detector had a sensitivity switch. This one doesn't but I'd say it probably isn't needed. It seems to very accurately detect pipes and wiring and once you get your head around how it works, (read the instructions properly, which I admit I didn't do immediately) you are able to locate the start and end of anything you don't want to drill into via the markings on the unit.It comes packed in a little tin, which protects it after use. It's a solid but light weight little piece of kit, which I would expect from Bosch. It's easy to hold and operate, with just a slider switch on the front to turn on and off. I'm still on the original battery after a couple of months use. A simple but effective tool and I'm very pleased with this detector.

So I was confused reading the reviews between those who it didn't work with and those which it did.So trusted the brand and ordered it as I needed to install shelves near wall plugs.I read the instructions and started to "test" it. It seems accurate to me as it was detecting studs and wires at the same place consistantly, at different moments and different directions ( left to right, high to low, right to left, etc...).It connected with the studs and the wires accurately every time.So, so far so good for detection of live ( and not) wires, which is but we'll see the accuracy of the detection once I start drilling into the wall for my new shelves.But I guess that if it has found the same stuff at the same place at different times and directions... It cannot be that bad?Will report back once I have found the right shelf and drilled the first hole... 😊

Effective for DIY projects. Nice to know where it's safe to drill

Not sure if there is some special way of holding this which stops false positives but this detector seems to be very erratic. One moment it is reading something under the wall and the next it gives a green light so, hard to know if it can be trusted.

Perfect for finding and metal pipes, steel work or electrical cables, to make sure I don’t drill and screws into them, very simple and easy and clear to use, and feel very confident because of Bosch’s makes great products

Das Bosch Ortungsgerät Truvo hat meine Erwartungen übertroffen! Die Ein-Knopf-Bedienung macht die Nutzung super einfach, selbst für Anfänger. Ich habe es verwendet, um Strom- und Metallleitungen in den Wänden zu finden, und es hat einwandfrei funktioniert. Die Genauigkeit ist beeindruckend, und die Anzeige ist klar und gut lesbar. Es hat mir viel Zeit und Aufwand gespart, besonders bei Renovierungsarbeiten. Ein tolles Werkzeug, das in jeder Werkzeugkiste sein sollte! Ich kann das Bosch Ortungsgerät nur empfehlen!

Way too sensitive on plaster walls as it detects wires and metals on the other side. I was trying to use it on the living room wall and it was beeping all over the places… they should add a switch you can use to choose the type of wall and the sensitivity of the device!
