Live At The Roxy

Slash rocks the Roxy
Slash always seems to be having a lot of fun lately when he is on tour with Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators, it seems being free of the shackles of playing in a big band has finally let the famous guitarist have some fun. Recorded shortly after the release of his third solo album ”World On Fire” Slash went back to his roots by playing the famous Roxy.Slash has found the perfect foil in Myles Kennedy who comes without the baggage that most front men bring. The CD has 19 songs with a mix of solo material and songs from both Guns N’ Roses and Velvet Revolver. It really is a performance of old fashioned rock and roll. Bassist Todd Kerns sings on two of the tracks “Doctor Alibi” & “You’re Crazy”. Highlights include “You’re A Lie”, “World On Fire” and “Slither”.Not everything works as “You Could Be Mine” misses the mark and at 17 minutes “Rocket Queen” is really too long and is the type of jam that no doubt Axl Rose would be happy with so he could pop off stage for a while. Overall a good live album that I would recommend if you already have “Made In Stoke” if not get that first.

Why the need for boring solos?
A brilliant concert but sadly they still insist on the boring 10 minute guitar solo and for me personally it's boring and I don't care who the guitar player is. If you like guitar solos then add the extra star as the rest is excellent.
