it was a perfect ending. Read the letter at the end
For me, it was a perfect ending. Read the letter at the end! So what has Jasinda given us this time. The delicious Roth and Kyrie find themselves up against an old girlfriend, one that wants something she's not entitled to. It's a fast paced story that takes us from America to France to Greece and introduces some wonderful shady characters. I do love Henri! It is different from Alpha and thank God for that, this reader doesn't want just a duplication. There is a lot of sex, sometimes I wanted to skip that only because the urge to know what came next in this action packed, romantic thriller had me more interested than what was going on in the bedroom. If you read reviews, you note some haven't liked the ending - For me this is a great ending. It is conclusive, you know what happens, but your mind can be let loose to come up with your own scenarios and scenes. I love it when an author challenges that boring old clichéd standard ending to every book in this genre. Readers have brains, we don't always need a traditional end, we can make one up in our own minds, thank you for allowing me to do that, Jasinda.

must read!!
This book is completely different to how I thought it would be, and so much different to Alpha which is the first book! I was pulled into the story from the start and realised straight away the turn it would take, it was full of action and suspense with some very hard scenes that I had graphic imagery in my mind, it wasn't hard to read at all and added to the way the great story was being written! plenty of hot steamy scenes added which is what I'd expect from Roth and kyrie :)A great read and I wanted it to continue, I really am hoping more of this story will be written as the ending does leave it very open!!!!

Well Worth A Read
What a fantastic book, the storyline had me on the edge of my seat. the sex scenes were written so sensually and with such feeling, this 2 part series was amazing. if your reading this review Jasinda you really should consider a 3rd book you cant leave this story unfinished, how can you compromise the characters [ your words ] by giving this book the ending it deserves. I cant begin to tell you how disappointed I was when I reached the end. Even so I still feel I have to give this book 5 stars because I enjoyed it so much but a 3rd would make it perfect.

A real page turner
A dark intense offering from Jasinda Wilder. The book handles terrible situations and appalling circumstances and leaves you desperate to read more. The underlying message for me was that love would conquer all but some of the scenes in this book were horrific. Roth and Kyrie's romance darkens and is forced to breaking point as Roth's past catches up with him and threatens everything he holds dear.Jasinda Wilder continues to amaze me with the versatility of her writing. This book is a gripping real page turner of a thriller rather than a romance. A brilliant read and I half hope that there isn't another one - I'm not sure I could take it!

Enjoyable read
I'm not sure what to put here. I am a huge fan of Jasinda and will one click anything that she has written. I wasn't a huge fan of Alpha, however I enjoyed this book more. It is filled with action and suspense, there are some omg moments. I liked the twists and turns. Previous Jasinda books have been an absolute emotional rollercoaster for me. Unfortunately thisseries just didn't do it for me. I felt no connection to the characters, it didn't pull at my heartstrings the way other books have. Please do not let this put you off, I know alot of people who really enjoyed the book, read it for yourself and make own judgement. It has not put me off reading her work and I will still one click any of her books.

Wow .... didn't see that coming !!
I'm a bit lost for words.... Love the first book of this series, ALPHA was a mysterious book of seduction which turned into love. This book BETA is fast, thrilling and very intense. It goes in a completely different direction that I didn't expect or see coming. Love the lead characters Valentine and Kyrie, you get to no Harris a lot more in this book also. Kyrie is so strong in this story, I was really scared for her ! Love Jasinda's writing, she goes into so detail without going on and on, and the love scenes she writes are epic. Don't want to say to much about the story, I don't want to spoil the surprise of the direction it takes. What I will say is there are some truly evil characters in this book..... When I read the reviews on Beta, a few were a bit disappointed in the ending. I didn't mind the ending, it does end quite abruptly. But that said it left you thinking and wondering about it long after finishing the book, i'd say for an author that's a job well done. Read the authors note at the end, Jasinda explains why she left as she did. It is also left open for a 3rd book if the author wishes, but there no promise of one. Really recommend this 2nd book, fast paced action..... Love it.

A little darker than I expected
I'm a little conflicted with this one. I was fighting with myself over if I should continue reading or leave it after chapter 3.Still I couldn't put it down an read it within 3 days.I really enjoyed the action side if this story more so than the sex scenes which I enjoyed in the first one.I also liked how we got to see things from valentine's point of view as well.However.***spoiler alert***The Male rape scene I wasnt to much if a fan off, kyrie and roths scene after she saved him, wasnt a fan off.I felt it gave the book a very very dark an twisted feel too it.With that said I still read it all and enjoyed 90% of it and yes I'm about to go and buy omega.

Rushed
What not can I say. The story line brilliant. Keri turned into a mercenary in her own right to save her man. Someday soon I will read this again as I am sure I missed so much. Thank you Jasinda.

A Visciously Brave, Stunning, & Extraordinary Book...
What a rocket powered launch into book two of Jasinda Wilder’s Alpha Series! Where “Alpha” was a slow, romantic stroll, “Beta” is a jet engine wearing pack of psychopathic roller derby queens! Despite beginning mere weeks after “Alpha” ends. “Beta” grabs you by the throat, rips you from the serenity of Roth and Kyrie’s world exploration, and thrusts you into Roth’s former world of international arms dealers as his past catches up with him. Thus, setting them both on a terrifying path of events that leave them at the brink of life and death. This book is far beyond the label of “erotic” and every reviewer comparing it to others such as Fifty Shades should be ashamed. Because this book, this series, is so much more than that. Oh no, this book is no mere romance or erotic novel; it is a Jason Bourne meets Fatal Attraction juggernaut! And it will leave you breathless…and disturbed. This installment is a lesson, that in life, the sins of youth often get repaid in horrifying ways. And as if Wilder is compelled by demons to drive this point all the way home, she extraordinarily shifts “Beta” into perilous, life altering territory. Territory I can honestly say I have never seen in a novel like this before. “Beta” is a stunning departure from, not only the first book, but almost everything else I’ve ever read within this sub-genre! And in a heartbreaking, rage inducing turn of events Roth is pushed beyond reason, forced to endure horrifying, truly life altering actions. Then, just when you think things can’t get worse, Kyrie is thrust into the clutches of an evil so desperate to destroy them both she must alter the very fabric of her humanity to survive it.The chain of events put into motion within this story is nothing short of extraordinary. Not only for its unflinching brutality, but for the courage undertaken by Wilder to write a piece so viciously realistic, so horrifically honest in its premise, so absolutely soul crushing in its portrayal, it will leave you speechless. In all the dark romance books I’ve read over the years, never have I encountered such a reversal of circumstance. And I truly applaud this author for writing it. Because despite its brutality, it’s gritty and real, it’s truthful and believable, it’s as shocking as it is heartbreaking. And in a literary landscape where woman are the typical victim, it’s necessary to remind the masses that cruelty happens to men too, no matter how strong, how alpha, how in control. Life. Just. Callously. Happens…Never in my life have I wanted to reach into the pages of a book and kill a character like I did Gina. I will be honest; this book is not for the faint of heart or easily offended. This is not the slow and sensual journey of book one. Roth and Kyrie’s plight is truly difficult to read. Your gut will clench. Bile will rise in your throat. You will cringe, and gasp, and seethe at the terrors written within the chapters of this book. But my god is it brilliant! And I promise you. I truly, irrevocably swear to you, it is worth it because, beyond the brutality, beyond the shattering of bodies and souls, there is unadulterated beauty in the chaos. Because from despair grows unshakable devotion. From the horror grows a love so deep it cannot be broken. From the violence grows a loyalty so profound it will never waver. And from it all arises something so strong, something joined so firmly on an emotional and cellular level, it makes the mythical phoenix look like a damn baby duck. And I fear for anyone who thinks to get in their way or threaten their happiness in book three. All the stars, this book gets all the stars out there to give, and even though published some years ago, easily makes my top reads of 2019 list.
