Rome Tech CR2032 CMOS BIOS Battery for Acer - Laptop Backup 3V RTC CR 2032 Acer CMOS Battery with 2 Wire Cable

There are a dozen, or more, encased CMOS batteries to fit various laptops. The connector on the lead of the battery I received may work for an Inspiron, as labeled on the pkg, but not for my Aspire 5 model as portrayed in the on-line description. Visual inspection reveals a small but noticeable difference. (Upon further research, this appears to be an issue with this mfr, at least as relates specifically to ACER Aspire 5's.) One can splice the old connector to the new lead, or open the repective battery encasements and replace the old with the new battery but this seems a lot of work for a 7 dollar part.

Good thing I decided to check this before I installed it. The connector was wired backwards. I was able to remove the wires and swap them in the holes before I connected it to the computer. Wished I had taken a pic before I did the swap. Other than that it is working fine. This was for a Dell Inspirion 15 5578.

There is nothing wrong, per se, with the battery. It is a CR2032 with wires on it. The problem comes with the packaging. The bag it is in is very generic, the computer it is for is identified on a small tag on the back of the bag. Whoever picks them evidently doesn't know this. I ordered a battery for an Acer 5, got a battery for a DELL ??. Battery is the same, connector not so much. I cut the connector off and soldered the old one on. Works fine, computer stopped beeping at me.
