Will this fit thick 1.2cm outdoor cable

Sorry, no. The entry hole is 9mm. I’m not sure that you will find a trailing socket that will take outdoor cable. You may have to use an outdoor socket and fix it somewhere convenient. I have them at the back for the garden pond and an outdoor socket for power tools, and one fixed at the side of the garage door so that I can charge the car battery. They are a bit of a fiddle to fit but really are waterproof, and not too expensive if you use Amazon.

Beware rogue delivery.

Good product. Shambolic delivery by Royal Mail (eventually found with packaging AND box opened near my flat - not at the Post Office I had arranged to pick it up from!!) hence only 4 stars. Product must be robust as it had been thrown around, judging by the packaging. Works fine.

A good socket, easy to wire cable into it but springy clips that contacts plugs pins are not so firm. Be careful if using a high power appliance, watch out if it gets hot.
