This thing is a beast.
Incredible pickup. Replaced the EMG 85 I had in my bridge with it, and the Blackout is definitely deeper and punchier, with a more dynamic, organic sound to it. I don't think I'll ever be going back to EMGs. Decided to order the matching neck Blackout right away.Note: Seymour Duncan Blackouts are some of the highest rated pickups on the market, and tons of experienced, well-known musicians swear by them. However, like any expensive piece of music equipment, I recommend doing some research first to see if these will provide the sound you are looking for. They are active, high high output pickups which perform best in high-gain tones, hence why they're popular with the metal/hard rock community. If that's the type of tone you are looking for, then these are for you.

These pickups...amazing!
Seymour duncan blackouts have become my new standard for active guitar pickups. Amazing tone, low feedback noise, and they can make any cheap guitar sound like you paid over 500 for it. Combine this with a good tube amp and you have a killer combo. This is definitely a must buy for any metal musician or any musician in general.

THe AHB-3 I recieved accidentally...sounds amazing.
This pickup sounds amazing, EXCEPT...this isn't the one I received (hence 4 stars). I received the AHB-3, which is the metal series pickup with a scooped mid tone. However, I figured I'd have it installed because I might like it, and I burst out laughing at how awesome it sounds over my old Dimarzio (ToneZone?) pickups, which were active, and decent, but NOTHING compared to the punch of this thing. A tiny bit dark sounding, but the punch, forget about it. It's a nice pickup. The potentiometers are smooooth, too. One thing is that apparently this (these?) pickups aren't capable of splitting coils, if you wanted to use half of it as a single coil.

Bit of a dissappointment for 80s Metal
Would return, but waited too long.
