Seal It Green Holds up to Tropical Storm Isaias
This photo was taken after Tropical Storm Isaias, about two weeks after we applied Seal It Green to our bamboo rooftop divider in NYC's Lower East Side. As with any sealant, the important work is in the prep. We used a weak organic dish soap and 'last life' rags to wash off and rinse the bamboo, which had aged to grey. We allowed the bamboo to dry thoroughly before using Seal It Green. I was initially disappointed to lose the grey color, but the sealed bamboo has a nice rich hue. Seal It Green did not stink, and it was easy to brush on. Our bamboo sucked it up, so the suggested wipe-off was minimal. We had a large project and we were surprised to complete the job with one gallon.

Bamboo fence
I was surprised at how it went on nice and fast and easy. I used a spray bottle and brushed it out on my bamboo. it actually had a sheen to it which I like. it’s been through two rains and has been on the fence for about one month

Got this to seal IPE deck
Although this is the Bamboo version it states it is good for IPE. So I power washed the deck and it's a light brown, not back to being red. That's acceptable to me because my deck is huge and would be too much work to treat. So next I applied this to the deck and it darkened the boards to almost a walnut color. Very uneven as well. I applied it with a brush so they'd be no pooling and no having to wipe it down. It's been several days now and it's still very dark. I'm really regretting doing this. I was hoping that after it dried it would lighten up again. But no....Also note that there is a very strong smell to this and it still smells!05/26/23 update. It lightened up to a pretty chocolate color and can see the grain again. Smell is pretty much gone. I only did one coat so I don’t know how durable it will be. But much happier now that it lightened up.

Great stuff
I have three bamboo pool side umbrellas, and I used this protective stain (cedar color) on them. Super easy to apply and the finished product looks great. Time will tell how well it stands up to the summer sun but so far so good.

This is NOT nontoxic!
Returning this! This product is NOT non-toxic and has warnings all over the back of the bottle! I guess that’s why there was no picture of the back included on here! This product IS toxic to the environment, including aquatic life. I hesitated to order this because I couldn’t see the whole bottle, and I wish I had trusted my instincts!

I'm not sure what rating to give it.
USED ON NEW BAMBOO. It never seems to dry. And the bamboo immediately seemed to turn a lighter shade once it was done and put up in the sun/weather. It turned lighter like about one to two weeks later. It really is odd to work with. It stains concrete, so be sure it is covered better than I did mine. Yet, it started out all covered well, but when you have to keep turning your bamboo fencing over to dry, it seems to get on anything close to it. Like I said, it's odd stuff, never seems to set and soak into the wood.
