Stepbrother Dearest

This is the 3rd re read for me, wanting to pass a little time and had the urge to pick this back up again. Nothing changes, still loved it. So well written and in my opinion the best stepbrother book out there and of course one of the first. I love Penelope Ward, her work is brilliant.Greta and Elec first meet when he moves to Boston from California to stay with his Dad who is now re-married to Greta's mum. He's the typical sulky bad boy or that's the impression he gives. He is uptight and rude to everyone because he didn't want to spend time with his Dad whom his relationship is damaged beyond help. He takes an instant dislike to Greta, he constantly teases her and belittles her even though she goes out of her way to make him feel welcome and help him settle in. She is attracted to his bad boy persona and you can feel the magnetism start to build between them to epic amounts, until he gets a call from his Mother asking him to come back to California leaving Greta heartbroken. Will she ever see him again, can anyone compare to him in her future life, well you will have to read the rest to find out.Both characters are strong and so likable, yes Elic has a past and he is a troubled soul but the best part is the healing and we get to experience all that and more. If there is one stepbrother book you pick to read please let it be this one. It is sweet and lovely, sad in places, lots of angst and moments that your stood on a precipice waiting to fall, but falling has never been so sweet - amazing !!!!!!

The writing size and font is easy to read and overall the item is good.Story rating:WOW!! I was hooked on this book from the moment I started it and I could not put it down until the end!! An angsty, unconventional love story and such a roller coaster! It was absolutely unputdownable lol. my only problem was how sent that text message??? that was never discovered but i understand. loved this book so giving it 4 stars!!!

I don't even know where the hell to start! Right, ok, here we go. I have been a reader for many years but since December 2012 when the hubs bought me a kindle for Christmas I have taken my reading to the extreme. It's intense, I read daily, sometimes all day, and I must read at night. Now, I have read almost 350 books since then and there are books on my device that are amazing, truly amazing. Then I downloaded Stepbrother Dearest. I knew this would be a great read because I have read all of Penelope's other books. But, believe me when I say this-this book is by far, without a shadow of a doubt, the best book I have ever read. It's not easy to put a book into that category, it really isn't. You know when your tummy flip-flops and your heart jumps when you get to the good bits, the tender bits? Well I had plenty of those. My emotions were all over the place, and that started right at the beginning. Talk about being on an emotional rollercoaster, I was put right through the wringer. The anagrams, I loved them. Elec's arrogance and cocky attitude, I loved it. The absolute tender, loving moments, I adored them. The way they fought against every damn feeling they had was so powerful it was heart-wrenching stuff. This book is superbly, superbly written. There are so many things I want to tell you about this powerful love story but I don't want to spoil anything. So, it's quite simple really, you have got to read this book. I can guarantee you will laugh out loud and I can certainly guarantee you will cry your eyes out, but at the end you will definitely say to yourself that was a f**kin' great book.

I won't lie, I picked up this book because EVERYONE was reading it and I just had to find out what all the fuss was about and boy am i glad I did. This book is emotionally seductive and it draws you right in from the start with Elec turning up and the chemistry between him and Greta. The bonds that are formed and the relationships that are built are amazing to watch grow throughout the book. Elec is a dark, brooding bad boy that I immediately fell in love with. Greta is so honest and trusting you just want to protect her.The way Penelope writes is just amazing, you are lured in the the emotions and seductiveness in her words and the way she amkes the whole story unfold, you are left wanting more every time you each the end of the page and are soon not able to put the book down because you need to know what is going to happen next.I absolutely loved this story, I went through so many emotions reading this book and some of the scenes were written so well that I was floored with emotion. Reading this book you will find yourself in amongst everything as you read, feeling the emotions right there with the characters maybe even sometimes shouting at the book but you will not regret anything. Every laugh, tear, hiccup, scream is worth it because you won't forget this book in a hurry. Like I said before it is beautifully written and well worth reading.

Elec 😍😍😍This was an enjoyable read. Step-brother romances are my jam. I actually thought this would be a dark bully romance but it wasn't but it didn't disappoint. The whole way through reading I wished this was dual POV so I'm so glad toward the end of the book we got Elec's POV from the start.This book is in two parts - when they are in high school then 7 years later. I enjoyed both parts but the first part was more enjoyable. That last night they had together 😍😍😍🥵.Enjoyable 🥰

One of the best books ever… so emotional, so real, you feel everything with the characters. The love is so strong.If I could I give 10 stars!

It was a roller coaster ride... I enjoyed reading it. Wonderful writing by the author. Now I'm going to be reading more books by her. Well done #PenelopeWard

My heart, mind, and soul were pulled---more like dragged---into this beautifully written second-chance love story that rendered me undone. I was happy, horny, heavy-hearted, and a hot mess from being dragged through a raw rollercoaster of a romance. I felt jitters like a teenage girl on a first date, excitement like when my favorite team won a football game, laughter like watching The Hangover movies, anger like someone lied to me or broke my trust, sadness like a family member died, and happiness like being at my favorite beach spot.It's more heavy and heart-tugging than other similar books, but much more satisfying where your emotions are constantly exercised and given a full work-out from this wonderful writing. Get your tissues ready, because you will bawl like a baby. Your heart will shatter into a million pieces, and slowly be pieced back together again...maybe a few times. Even after the Stepbrother Dearest experience, you'll still be left gasping for more.5 tender and terrific stars

Es una de las mejores historias que he podido leer este año. Muy recomendable. Es la primera novela que leo de esta autora y no puedo esperar por leer las demás.
