Great book for step 1 plus it is not an international copy
Ok, so i am an old graduate who decided to give usmle.. first aid step 1 was obviously on my list.. i did have an older version and an international copy . So when I received the book i knew it was of better quality. Thanks to my amazon delivery person for not trying to fit the package in my mail box and ruin it... it was neatly left near my front door.(covered patio).Paper back is better material than usual paper.. and the pages inside are great as well.I decided to check the seal that i saw in some reviews when removed showed international copy written underneath... i removed most if it to see, nothing under it and it has autentic written on it.. probably the seller noticed the issue, which is great and made sure authentic copies are sent.Last of all it’s a thick book, so Incase anyone doesn’t want to carry all of it or fears that it will eventually come out of the binding, you can remove the pages and do 3 punch hole and put them in thin bindersI hv attached the pics of the seal i removed and it’s close up etc to show it’s authenticity.overall a great book to follow ..

The Greatest Update?
This is an outstanding comprehensive update. I have the 2017 version and the 2017 to 2018 update is much more drastic than the 2016 to 2017 was. There are updates to a large number of images and tables. An example is the glaucoma drugs that are now nicely fit into a table unlike in the 2017 version. There are also updates that I found in the 2018 version that I had annotated into my 2017 version from UWorld. The infant/child development chart is now in its appropriate place, the reproductive section rather than public health sciences as in 2017. These are only but a few examples and there are many such changes and updates. A great and welcome update to an already amazing resource.Update: While using this edition further, not only are there schematic/logistical updates, the content updates are also critical. For example, they (finally) added a vomiting center section in the neurology section; a key addition. A small update about the variable myelination of the cranial nerves (I + II vs III to XII) has also been added. I think listing some of these changes lends itself to demonstrate the importance of updating to the latest version of FA, even if you have one that you've been annotating/working with already.Best of luck!

My Medschool Companion
This book is like the Bible for med students. It is amazing how you get to learn and memorize all the stuff with simple mnemonics and diagrams! Without this book, I would not have been able to organize myself with the extravagant amount of material the school throws at you. However, it is important to recognize that this book has everything that is most high yield, but you cannot limitate yourself to this, since you have to know the origins and details of how things work in our bodies! Good luck to all my future colleagues!

Incredibly helpful
My son bought this for medical school and uses it religiously. Has provided great resources and knowledge as he dives into preparation for his STEP 1 exam.Book is well built, binding is high quality, photos are very high quality, and font is incredibly easy to read.My son prefers reading this book over looking at the same images on a computer.Only complaint is the book is heavy and does add a lot of weight to a backpack, but that was expected considering how much material this book covers.Must buy for anyone needing to study for the USMLE STE 1 board exam.

I’m Loving It!
I’m in the middle of the AMCAS/IMG application process (Medical School). And every med school student I speak to is chest deep in USMLE prep. Soooo since this book was so cheap AND is totally referenced as a type of “Bible” to them, I thought “ What the hell” I’ll buy it and read it at my leasure. Well turns out, the knowledge in this book helped me with my MCATs as well as the GRE. My only regret, I wish I’d bought this book somewhere around my Sophomore year of college....Its That Good!!

As described
It gives me PTSD thinking back to using this thing, but it is the standard for board studying for a reason. Did it provide me with my dream Step 1 score? Unfortunately not, but the book came as advertised.

BUYER BEWARE: Errors
There are errors throughout the book which I didn't realize until months into studying with it. People should be warned about this! The shipping should come with an insert that says "be sure to check out our errata page every so often for updates so you don't study the wrong information for your $650 exam!"Otherwise yes the book is amazing and much needed by everyone prepping for Step 1 but seriously so bothered by the above.

It makes it easy to use my pathoma videos as a way to ...
Just received the book. Started annotating it with content from other high yield resources (e.g. pathoma), and I notice that the pathology content is well organized in a way that helps me capture points. It makes it easy to use my pathoma videos as a way to expand on the succinct and high-yield content in the FA book. The "public health sciences" section also includes some useful changes (at least from the 2015 edition that I had prior).

Essential high yield revision aid for knowledge of medical subjects
This was recommended to me by my clinical supervisor and it’s brilliant as a yard stick for the essential knowledge of a junior doctor. It’s obviously USA centric but well laid out as a high yield revision aid.
