Product Description UK edition replaces the International track, 'Better Man' with 'Lazy Days'. Former Take That member Robbie Williams, with the help of 16 top ten singles and five number one albums, has become one of the biggest superstars in the Universe (America is the only country that does not bow down and honor him!). for those who want to know what all the fuss is about, this release features a selection of hit singles pulled from his albums Life Thru a Lens, I've Been Expecting You, Sing When You're Winning and Escapology. For the converted, there are two non-album tracks recorded especially for this release: 'Radio' and 'Misunderstood'. 19 tracks total including 'Let Me Entertain You', 'No Regrets', 'She's the One' and 'Angels'. EMI.Please Note:Front Cover Image may vary, customers will receive one of the two as per stock availability. .com Greatest Hits chronicles the remarkable journey of Mr Robert Williams, from being the "fat dancer from Take That" (c. Noel Gallagher) to the multi-million pound jewel in EMI’s crown. Assembled in chronological order, all the hits are here, except for his initial solo outing "Freedom", and it’s interesting to see how his sound evolves from wannabe Britpop buffoon on the sub-Oasis pubrock of "Old Before I Die" to the subtle captivating melodies of "Feel" and "Come Undone". There are so many great tracks that it’s impossible to list them all, but highlights have to be the barnstorming "Let Me Entertain You", the bouncy, floor-filling "Rock DJ" and the song that madeth the man, "Angels". The two latest additions to his canon--"Radio" and "Misunderstood" clearly have one eye on the past, the other on the future – with the latter an instant classic Robbie ballad from the Bridget Jones 2 soundtrack and the former a foray into the world of electro pop that sounds like a warped Human League track from the 1980s. This has to be Robbie’s forte, his ability to make great pop records that always sound fresh and full of energy. Every home should have a copy of this album, and chances are, by the end of 2004, most of them will. -- Melanie Wilkin

Wake Up, America! Robbie Rules!
It baffles me that Americans still don't appreciate the talent of Robbie Williams or even know who is. While the American music industry is shoving garbage down our throats, everything from the fluff of Justin Timberlake & Britney Spears to noise such as rap and all the bands who express nothing but anger and apparently attempt to sound just alike, England is laughing behind our backs because, once again just like the days when they had the Beatles before they shared them with the rest of us, they have this great, unique, charismatic talent who is known as Robbie Williams. For those who are still not sure if you should purchase this CD, let me tell you that this collection is an excellent starter set to get you acquainted with this incredible talent. To really get the full effect of Robbie, however, you must see him perform. So, check out purchasing some of his DVDs as well. It is difficult to describe Robbie because he is like nobody else (a blessing in this day and age when everybody tries to be the same.) His music and lyrics go from straight ahead pop-rock to moving melodies that sink deep within the soul. Some lyrics are pure fun while others are deep and thought-provoking. He can compose! He can sing! He is so talented and the American music industry has let him slip through the cracks by not promoting him in The States. I got acquainted with Robbie by purchasing his "The Ego Has Landed," a U.S. compilation CD of his first two CDs in England. His music is a combination of 70s and 80s and today - again, it is pure Robbie; nobody else is like him. And, THAT VOICE! It is so penetrating and couples perfectly with the compositions. One listen to tracks such as "Let Me Entertain You," and "Millennium" (close your eyes and drift away to that orchestration and arrangement) and I guarantee you'll be a Robbie fan too. After you've purchased this Greatest Hits collection, you will want more Robbie; so next you will want to buy "Sing When You're Winning" and his CD where he shows much maturity, "Escapology." Both of these CDs should have been major hits in the U.S. - I've always said the British are more musically cultured than young Americans who, for the most part, must be collectively tone deaf if they think most of the rap and noise on MTV is talent. Wake up, America - there is more talent out there than what the American airwaves is shoving in your ears. Talented musicians are all over the world who need to be getting airplay on both radio and MTV/VH1. Yes, this CD is expensive; but, it is worth it. If you like swing music too, you should also check out Robbie's salute to the Rat Pack entitled "Swing When You're Winning." He is a unique talent that should be in every American home. Buy this CD to get acquainted with him (find a cheaper used copy, if you must) then get his later CDs and DVDs. Just do it!

We missed out on an excellent entertainer and singer
I just don’t know why America did not embrace Robbie Williams. We missed out on an excellent entertainer and singer. I guess if I ever want to see him in concert I would have to go over sea. Sucks really on that count. This album is fantastic

A Great Starting Point
This is a great starting point for music lovers in the U.S. who are unfamiliar with Robbie Williams. (I wasnt until the movie De-Lovely) Why he hasnt hit it big here, I dont understand, nor will you after listening to this Greatest Hits collection. Full of catchy, infectious pop tunes you'll want to listen to again and again. This wont be your last Robbie Williams CD, that I can assure you. Four and a half stars. Well worth your money.

Good selection of titles
You can find 19 songs on this collection of greatest hits. Since he has been in the business for a while, it represents a good mix of previously published songs. Since this CD was published before the song "Advertising Space" came out (which I think is one of his best songs ever), it is not included here.I can recommend this CD for anyone, who is/was too lazy buying his hits on a single-CD before. It's got what you are looking for.
