The Crimson Pact: Volume 5 : Genesse, Paul, Bingle, Donald J., Malik, Usman T., Jordan, Michaele, Hill, Zachary, Beaulieu, Bradley P., McCoy, Chante, Loree, Stephanie, Darling, Donald, Diamond, Steve: desertcart.co.uk: Books Review: OK, so, we're at the 5th and final collection of the shared world of the Crimson Pact books. This one does not disappoint. It feels a bit different than the earlier books. A minor nit to pick wodl be that there are some new stories with new characters. For me personally, taking a macroview of the series, I really liked the stories that either continued a tale from an earlier volume, either directly or indirectly. There are some continuations here, but some stories apparently have either been finished, or were (in my opinion) left somewhat hanging in the aforementioned volumes. With that said, the quality of the stories is quite strong. This is tribute to the editing prowess of Paul Genesse, and his ability to find some good authors. I liked most of the stories in all 5 books. Some more or less than others of course (personal taste!). If this is somewhat vague, it's because I don't feel like recapping the premise of the multiversal demonic invasion, or spoilling anything. I will say that the last story that "closes" the book was a lot of fun, and had some neat callbacks (especially if you are a Larry Correia fan). It's a nice coda. I wish the authors and Paul success- I definitely noted some names to check out in the future. Recommended to all fans of the anthology. If you are reading this and haven't read the earlier books, by all means, go do so.
