Solid
I've only used the stove once since I got it the other day but it seems well built and should hopefully last a long time. Stainless body and internal combustion chamber, cast iron pot supprt, and black painted base and stove door surround (no idea what metal is under the paint). Pop rivetted and welded. As far as I can guess, I suspect the cast iron top may be it's only real point of potential (unlikely) breakage. But i can only see that cracking if it's hit hard or has a lot of cold water poured on it when it's roasting hot. Secondary burning of wood gases is part of the stove's design apparently, but I haven't figured out where the gas holes inside the chamber actually lead to in order to circulate gases released from the burning wood. The stove definitely performs best with small diameter twigs and kindling. That's where you get the most heat output from the top. I experimented with larger wood up to maybe four centimeters and it will burn, but less fiercely (obviously). This might be good if you want to make some hot coals for your dutch oven lid. Stove can be fed from the top or the sides and the stove door closes to retain a little heat.Smokey at first, once the burn gets underway the smoke almost disappears completely, but expect your cookware to get blackened (if you wash it right away it'll come off, otherwise have dedicated pots and they will absorb heat more readily with the soot on the base).Handles allow you to move the stove when hot and the simple feed tray detaches and can be stored inside. Exterior walls remain cool due to the insulated core. Empty cold ash out by tipping it and shaking it clean. It's a simple, well made stove that doesn't require a lot of time messing with.I'm still a bit confused by the presence of the Petromax version of this stove, which looks identical in every way. I don't know whether Silverfire (usa) or Petromax (germany) are competitors or collaborators. But if they are identical then I think price is about all that's going to decide your choice. The Petromax company do seem to supply accessories, such as bags and cookware and the like. Silverfire does have a skirted pot dedicated to its stove, but that one pot is £65 right now, so I won't be rushing out to buy it!Value for money? I would say at it's current price of £99 it's good value for money. Any more and I would have been put off by price. It is, after all, just a stove, albeit a decent one. There's a stove frenzy in the market at the moment and some of the smaller camping stoves have had some silly price tags. By comparison to some of those tiny designer stoves, you get a lot more stove for your money wih the Silverfire, but £99 is a high enough price in my opinion.

Returned
Unfortunately I had to return it due to poor soldering in 2 places. 1 was terrible soldering in inner chamber and I was concerned it wouldn't hold once it was alight and reached a high temperature. I asked for a replacement via amazon, but never got it. Instead they refunded my money without ever responding to my phone calls. Communication was zero. It's a shame cos I really would have liked a replacement.

Worth every penny
Worth every penny . Works very very well . I wanted to get a gas bottle for my camper van but they sold out. So decided to get this to use and the power of twigs . It works so well cooks with nearly no fuel .I went out and purchase the shroud pan which is just as good. High quality and great design only issue I found is the feed tray is sharp so quick debur is needed really on that.Great in all other regards

It's the best
I did a fair amount of research on rocket stoves and the Silverfire Survivor seemed to be the best. The research was based on USA reviews as the Silverfire has very limited exposure in the UK.I bought from this UK supplier sooner than I planned because the UK price in pounds was almost half of the USA dollar price which is unusual to say the least and I expected the price would increase once current UK stocks run out and the price has to reflect the lower pound/dollar exchange rate.I ordered the Silverfire on a Thursday and it arrived the following Monday by a courier that e-mailed first thing to tell me which hour in the day it would arrive. It arrived on time so the first part of this review is to say that the dispatch and delivery was excellent. The second part of this review is to say that the reviewers from Amazon.com were absolutely right and the Silverfire Survivor is very well made in stainless steel and looks as if it will last a lifetime with no ceramic insulation to disintegrate or mild steel to rust unlike some other rocket stoves. The third part of this review will be updated when I have fired it up on different fuels and tested it's efficiency

Worth the price over cheaper rocket stoves
Well built and compact stove. A little difficult to cook on as it's either a roaring jet engine or dies out. But that's just because it's efficient at the burn. Very stable, even with a large Dutch oven on top. Would highly recommend.

Rocket stove
Screw missing from carrying handle. Have asked for a replacement as it needs to match the others. Rest of product seems good.

Brilliant piece of kit well worth the money
What an absolute brilliant thing to have in my kit a small group of us go out clay pigeon shooting on a farm Before I got my silverfire survivor we used a halfords gas stove which did the job for cooking breakfast in small amounts. This however we put a far bigger pan on it and it uses small twigs and dead wood laying around No more buying gas canisters for me. I can even put my Kelly kettle on it.Well built unitWe even used it when we had a family BBQ in the summer the wife cooked a chili on it from start to finish. Will upload photos next time I use itIf you are thinking like I did should I shouldn't IAll I can say is if you cook outside or go camping or fishing this is the one for youWill be ordering another one for my daughter and son inlaw for xmas as they go fishing regularly
