Hazel Quinn Retro Electric Kettle with Thermometer- 1.7 L / 57.5 oz, Stainless Steel, 1200W Fast Boiling, BPA-free, Automatic Shut Off - Space Gray

I’ve been looking at kettles on and off for the last year, but my old kettle started cutting out so I was forced to purchase one. I had purchase a different kettle about a year ago, which I ended up being lthrowing away, because after weeks of boiling water it still spelt of plastic. Many of the stainless still kettles available still have plastic parts that smell/taste of plastic but this kettle is completely stainless steel. There is no unpleasant smell or taste. Followed th instructions and boiled 3 times before using and it’s perfect.When we opened the box my first thought was that it was very compact and couldn’t be 1.5 litres and I must have bought a 1 litre kettle by mistake, but it is 1.5 litres.It’s stylish and compact. It’s very easy to pour, with no splashing and surprisingly light.The only thing that I miss from my previous clear kettle is not being able to easily see how full the kettle is. There is no indication on the outside, so you need to look inside the kettle and it’s not easy to see the max line. Not too much of an issue for me as I use a filter jug that has 1.5 litres of filtered water.

Bought this kettle as it is Plastics free on the inside. It is stylish and looks good in our kitchen. It pours well and appears to be good quality. However it is the noisiest kettle we have ever had hence only 3 stars. You cannot have a conversation whilst it is boiling! If you want a quiet kettle this is not for you.

I looked around for a while as we wanted a stainless steel, plastic free kettle. I was happy to find this one and purchased it in Oct 2024. It arrived and though I felt it was very light and not as substantial as I thought a £50 kettle should be, I gave it the benefit of the doubt. I does what it should(boil water) but very quickly I noticed the handle on the lid started to loosen. There's a screw to tighten it and I did so. (see pic). It kept loosening very easy. I can deal with that so didn't think much more about it.Less than 2 months of owning this kettle, I noticed rust at the top of the kettle opening(see pics). That is a complete failure and goes against the whole reason for purchasing this stainless steel kettle. Maybe I should have stuck with my gut feeling of the build quality and returned it then. I'm definitely going to now!I hope this helps other people in making their decision.

Looks very nice. However, small capacity, takes a long time to boil and very noisy. Been consigned to the cupboard as a spare which is a shame.

So far so good. Pleased with the kettle, no plastic anywhere in it and that's important. I only wish it would cost less

Worked for two years before starting to leak. Given the £30 I bought it for I would say it faired reasonable well.

Looks great new, but only lasted a total of 13 months which was unacceptable for the price. The switch broke which is really cheap quality it was never going to last, the chrome plastic finish peels away. Overall really disappointing purchase
