Rick Rose is no Rick Steves (nothing against the infamous Mr. Steves, love his work as well). Rick Rose however is the modern day, chic expert you can turn to for advice on all things Palm Beach.What to do? What to see? What to eat? It’s all in this guide! These pages describe in detail many of the most famous sights you won’t want to miss. The descriptions are so lovingly written it’s like you’re walking the streets with Rick himself. The “Rick’s Tips” are much appreciated as it makes the experience that much more special. It will make you want to be there even more than you already did! It’s not just about the commonly known sights, either. There are many recommendations for the off the beaten path traveler as well. It is a wonderful complement for preparing your trip as well as taking it along with you.Everyone knows Palm Beach is a dream destination. But why? Is it the landscape? The architectural landmarks? The history? The celebrity? The food? To me, it’s all of those things and so much more. Yet, sadly, this year is not exactly the time most are traveling. FEAR NOT! This book is such a great resource! As a Christmas present I planned a family trip to Palm Beach, and filled a box with Palm Beach related gifts for them to open on Christmas morning. I am so glad I ordered and included this book! We saw so many things we otherwise would’ve missed, and had so many factual tidbits at our disposal to make the experience so much richer. The photos are varied and interesting, and the conversational text gives a glimpse into a world we otherwise would never know. We keep it on the coffee table now and visitors always look through it and comment... giving us a chance to tell them our own Palm Beach stories. I am sure even Palm Beach insiders would learn a lot from the author. Highly recommended!

I picked up this book in the Lily Pulitzer store on Worth Avenue in Palm Beach because it was easy to read and more informative than most of the run-of-the-mill travel books that I had seen for the area. I was very glad that I did! All of Rick's tips for the area are fabulous (so glad that we had lunch on Worth Avenue; this was just one of many great tips.) I have purchased this book for three other friends who are going to the area since I returned from Florida last month. Truly written by someone who is very familiar with the area, knows how to have fun, and who has a clear, direct writing style.

Anyone planning on visiting Palm Beach, one of American's best loved resort towns will want to read this book. Rick Rose, delights his readers with the Must-Sees and Dos of Palm Beach. This book is filled with beautiful photos of the area and it includes all the great restaurants, hotels, beaches and shopping. Kudos to Rick Rose for a great read!

In planning a winter getaway for ladies to Palm Beach, Rick Rose's Essential Guide has proven extremely helpful. Can't wait to actually partake of all he recommends.

I loved learning about the history of the area, putting things in context makes it all so much more interesting. I was also able to take the authors walking tour of Palm Beach, which was also a wonderful history lesson about this iconic resort town. It makes a great gift for anyone who enjoys American history or has any connection to the area.

A great review of not only the palm beach island proper and other points of intrest, he dose not push one place over another, I guess not to ruffle any locals!He even covers the beaches, but not too much detail,,,,, a great read, love it, by the way a must for visitors to the area, and make sure to take his Worth Ave tour!
