Dimensions Needlepoint Kit, Starfish Pattern, 14'' x 14''

For the most part, this is an easy-to-complete pillow.However there are some things I question.--Why, for example, are there areas where we have to combine cotton thread with wool yarn? On the blue part of the side panel, the two are identical in color and I can't notice any difference in look or shine or anything else from the combination versus just using the wool. On the light blue part of the starfish, there is almost too much difference between the two colors.--That orange customs seal is a nightmare. I had to do it over several times. Not only are the small letters badly marked with minimal contrast, but due to the quadriculated structure of the canvas, it's very difficult to make them readable. I'm not satisfied with how it came out.--The tan background colors are hard to decipher from the shading on the canvas. Fortunately, it makes very little difference to the finished product how it's shaded, so winging it is fine. After my experience with the writing on the seal, I decided to ignore the writing on the background.--The white yarn that goes on the right side of the pillow (in the area of the cobalt blue design) does not appear to be of the same quality as the other yarns provided. Luckily, I have a tremendous stock of yarn left over from other projects and I'm substituting my own. The rest of the yarn and thread are of fine quality,--I ran out of the light blue yarn before finishing the large starfish. I got the 5 legs done but I'm having a hard time finding a similar color to complete the center.--Overall, the yarn supply is sort of stingy.The overall process, however, is relaxing and results in a lovely and not difficult process (once you get past the seal!) I'm not finished yet but I'm thoroughly enjoying it.

Well i couldnt wait to get this to make for my mom normally i do handpainted canvases but i really liked this on ive never used wool yarn just silk and a silk and wool mix so coupdnt wait to try but i only got some of the yarn and no canvas in my kit has the instructions and some of the cotton but it was open torn when i picked up at the hub so dunno what happened.

The yarn comes presorted and tagged - the yarn is smooth and nicely colored - I'm so enjoying working on this and the chart is easy to follow. After buying a "European quality" kit with coarse yarn and coarse colors that didn't match the picture and NO CHART I wound up throwing it away. I'm sticking with Dimensionsfrom now on!

I couldn't distinguish the light colors in the background, so I am just doing it all one color. I will make it into a pillow when done. The yarn is high quality, even the acrylic - it's so soft! (the acrylic one). The colors are gorgeous.

Very nice, quality materials are in this kit. The design itself has received many compliments, though I'm only partway through the project. The colors are lovely~~in cotton, wool, & just the white is in acrylic. Even though the mesh is printed, an illustration guide is included. The instructions total eight pages, including the large graphics. I made a photocopy, then cut out the illustration guide and yarn key and laminated them to keep in my project bag.I haven't done needlepoint since I was about eleven, but I'm a knitter and know quality yarn, which is what makes this kit such a good value.Craft on!

I like the kit, almost done, but have had great difficulty with the writing, the colors are too similar and easy to confuse. At least for me!

I love the design and the colors. Easy to follow instructions.

Still working on this kit so I can't comment on amount of supplied yarn yet. It is well organized with all yarn labeled and charts are clear. It is a challenging canvas which I'm enjoying very much.
