Another forced marriage trope by this author!! I swear no one writes them better than Natasha 🫠The main protagonists have good chemistry and that kept me hooked in the book. It wasn't as dark as I expected but amazing nonetheless. The ending was a surprise and I just know that things are going to blow off in the next book!!! So excited for that one.Definitely recommending this one to all the dark romance loving people out there!

The stories that Natasha writes are so gripping I am obsessed with Santos & Madelena's world. This book was mysterious and had a tinge of darkness but I have a feeling that when some important secrets are revealed it will get darker. I loved how drawn Santos & Madelena were to each other. Both had very strong personalities I couldn't get enough of the tension between them. I wish they were better at communicating with each other though. The plot was extremely intense and engaging, keep in mind that this book ends on a cliffhanger. Can't wait to read the next book!

This is the first book I read by Natasha and I was captivated. I fell in love with her writing and the world she has created. I was at the edge throughout the read and had to finish the read in a single sitting. Santos, Madelena had my heart from the start and I was rooting for them. I loved getting to know them and as there story span throughout the years which made it easier to understand them and connect with them. There is so much depth in the characters that I was lost in them. I wanted to unravel every single mystery. As the book end on a cliffhanger I'm left thinking of all the possibilities and trying to anticipate what's to come next. Even hours after finishing the book I was lost in the read. I was intrigued by some of the secondary characters and hoping they get there own books.

The story is intense and gripping dark Mafia Romance that took me on a thrilling journey. The writing is rich in detail and highly immersive. I didn't know whom to trust and whom to not in the end of the book.Santos - He was a born king and knew how to protect everyone around him. He considers his brother as his right hand and relies on him. Inspite all the burdens he carries he makes sure to be there for Madelena.Madelena - I would love to call her Maddy (She only loves to hear that from her brother) It was cute see her get angry when Santos tries to call with that nick name. Her past is too cruel and the only person who doesn't gossip on that is Santos.The chemistry between Santos and Madelena is perfect, their relationship is filled with passion, tension as well emotion. The plot is backed with everything a Mafia Romance can have.The unexpected twist in the end... Makes me want for a time machine. I am starting to dislike the word Wait and I am in NEED of the next book right Now!!!

My favorite Natasha Knight series and that's saying something since I have loved all of her books I've read so far. This duet is just perfection. The mafia/force proximity/arranged marriage tropes with lots of angst and secrets and you've got me hooked! This book has all of that and more. The family drama is off the charts and the family secrets are even more crazy. This book has it all and will keep you guessing until the very ending. This one ends on a cliffhanger but the second books picks up right up where this one leaves off.

I absolutely loved this story line, love this author's work. What a cliff hanger literally. Was very well written and keeps you entranced from the first page

Santos and Madelena’s story begins when she is grieving, the day of her uncles funeral. What happens after is a roller coaster of events where she’s protected from afar and up close until she’s of age to marry him. The events that follow is a beautiful story of love, betrayal and particular references to mental illness that I applauded NK for including in the book. It’s not lightly touched as it’s kind of one of the continuing focal points in the book and part of the protagonist make up. Loved their story, sweet, dark, dangerous and steamy.

Never read anything from this author and im pleasantly surprised with this book. I enjoyed it and look forward to the next one.

This is very drawn out spanning several years before the couple are together. It took everything in me to finish it but I’m actually glad I did cause the cliffhanger leaves you begging for more.
