FTDI chipsets means no driver issues. My PC found the right drivers automatically.. Come in male and female D9 . Make sure you get the right ones or get the "sex change" adaptors.

The product support website link does not work so I guess I'm coming here. Here's what AI is helping me figure out. The adapter is physically defective. An RS-232 Transmit (TX) line must idle at a negative voltage (typically -5V to -15V). Because your Pin 3 measures 0V, the internal line driver is dead. This is a hardware failure confirmed across two separate host devices. You cannot fix this with software; request a replacement. Defect: Pin 3 (TX) shows 0V; it must be negative. Verification: Tested on Pi 3 and Pi 5; both show 0V. Action: Initiate a return/replacement.

Excellent product great quality materials. Works as expected and no issues with Driver install ( if needed from FTDI Website ) otherwise plug and play.

Product Claims 1 ct, RS232 DB9 connector adapter to USB 2.0 I received a slightly different version of what was presented in the product description, which was a hard single-chassis adapter without a cable. What I received was a female DB9 connector attached with 89 inches of cable to a USB female connector. I haven't yet checked the software / driver compatibility for installation; what is clear from a quick read through the instruction manual is that if your system doesn't recognize this out of the box, then you have some driver download and updating to do, which requires internet access and access to their website. (So using this on a disconnected and/or standalone piece of equipment may be difficult to do.) The material and construction seem to be of good quality, and the price can't be argued with (presuming it works). As a first look, and given the difference in physical appearance between what was presented versus what was delivered, I'm going to give this one a cautious 4 stars, until such time as I can complete the process of installation on a suitable system.
