Andre Rieu My Music My Life Paperback – 22 Oct. 2015

Having viewed a few of Andre's documentary videos, we quickly get the point that his private family life is exactly that.....private, and distinct from his on stage life, which is his job. This book gives us an overview of his early life, and his exceptional hard work and continuous efforts to make music his life. There are a few endearing anecdotes, but it is not a 'tell all' volume, which is the way it should be, and is all the more refreshing for that. In this day and age when we can suffer from an overload of information about peoples personal life, this book gives us just enough to help us understand the things that matter about this hardworking, and entertaining man and his amazing supportive wife and two sons.It is an easy read, and will inform and entertain, just like the man himself. I hope others will enjoy this book too.

I had the wonderful experience of seeing Andre's concert this last summer in Maastricht & wanted to read about how the man had reached his success.This book let's you hear from he & his wife, Majorie's own voice the story of their journey. They have worked as a team to reach the successful position they are in and I alongwith so many others are glad they persisted as Andre's music is amazing & does bring joy and happiness to do many.

I enjoyed the light way this book was written, interesting too. Feel I know the Rieu family well, just as if they are our next door friends ! My partner and I have been great admirers of Andre music and his orchestra for years have all his music on CD' s and DVD' s and had the pleasure of seeing him live in London. We love your waltzes and all romantic music even though we are young 80's !!! Oh yes Andre and I, Julie, share the same birthday date but of course not the same year... we wish all of the very best to you, your family and splendid musicians.God bless you for all the joy you bring to us treasure the beautiful gift God has given you always. As new book. I still cannot work out why I paid £22 for it when the cost new on the back was £20 but every search comes up with ridiculous prices of anywhere between £60 - £250. Still, my Dad wanted it.

Good book gives details of Andres life ,I found it very interesting and I love the music he played at a recent concert we went to this year. Gives classical music a zest for life.

I found this book very enjoyable to read! It's 'warm,' humorous and quite interesting. It gives glimpses into Andre's childhood and also his wife's. It reveals all of the hard work behind his success. His family seems to live, love and work together. One review said it read like a textbook so I almost didn't get it. But I'm glad I did and I totally disagree!! I could hardly put it down. It was uplifting and as enjoyable as his music. I would like to add that there are a lot of pictures in the book to illustrate different stages of his life and career.
