Now I have to use different detection methods to work out when I've had a power cut. It's a pleasure not to have to keep resetting the central heating times.

Nice to have correct part for my 25 year old Honeywell control unit . Hopefully will not have to reset it every time there is a power cut .

It worked a treat, arrived very quickly and much cheaper than a new control unit. The only problem is that the old one had a lug which secured it into place in the control unit. However, as it doesn't get moved, it is not that important.

Too early to judge how well this battery will last but it is doing the job well so far and I have never had an issue with Varta as a brand. The wires soldered to the battery do not appear on the original and are not needed; they have been neatly folded down, did not make battery insertion any more difficult and I suspect they will make battery removal easier when the time comes.

Should have bought one years ago! Every time we had a power cut I lost all my settings on the central heating timer. Now with the new battery I don't have to put in all the settings again.

The battery arrived promptly but the internet picture attached to the product is misleading as the supplied battery had no tags or wires attached to it to connect it to the pcb. However after a phone call and returning the item the correct battery was supplied. This is marked as an OEM (Varta) part so should be satisfactory.Incidentally -The ACL Lifestyle controller was constructed so that it was very difficult to remove and replace this rechargeable battery. I would have been better off replacing the whole central heating controller than trying to make a repair.

We've had problems with our central heating programmer - whenever there was a powercut it reset itself. Obviously the internal battery wasn't holding a charge. Sorting through papers we found out the type of battery and how to install, saw this on amazon and it did the trick. No problems now when we get a powercut.
