Need to be patient but works
My daughter is 6 and has been potty trained since 3. She initially was dry at night after potty training but after a few weeks was having accidents every night. We decided to use pull-ups and figured she would outgrow the nighttime accidents. Fast forward to her turning 6 and we decided it was probably time to intervene since it didn't appear to be something she was going to outgrow. After reading all research, reviews, etc. it sounded like a bed-wetting alarm was the most successful of all methods and it made the most sense to me since it's teaching your child's brain to wake up when they have the urge to pee, so its a means of retraining rather then just having then pee before an accident happened. As I said earlier, you have to be patient. Using the alarm is a bit exhausting in the beginning. To help intervene as quickly as possible my husband and I took turns sleeping next to my daughters bed so that we could wake her up as soon as the alarm went off. We also assumed that she was only having accidents once a night but it was actually twice, so the first week we would have to get her out of bed, to the toilet, pee, change clothes, pull off sheet, clean alarm, put it back on and get my daughter back to bed twice a night. Depending on your child they may get annoyed with the alarm as well and shut it off themselves or just pull it off. After a few weeks of the process my daughter starting pulling it off since the part that clips to the shirt is pretty clunky. I decided to leave that part unattached but leave the clip on the underwear on in hopes that it would stay on but my daughter wouldn't yank it off. Thankfully that did work and we were able to extend the use of the alarm for a few more weeks. How long it took- We started on February 10th, and we were stuck on the 2 alarm per night for about a week. She had her first full dry night after 18 days (February 28th) of using the alarm. Since then she's gone 29 dry nights with one accident at the beginning of the process and over a week ago we have stopped using the alarm altogether at this point.. The alarm has really been a huge relief to us, it's difficult when you get through potty training only to learn you have to do it again with the nighttime bed-wetting. I would highly recommend using this product, it held up well and was very well priced in comparison to others. I did also use my own star chart to give my daughter rewards for every time she got up to pee when the alarm went off, so she isn't discouraged by the process and of course stars for dry nights.

This will work!
I bought this for my 8 year old daughter who was a heavy sleeper and sometimes couldn't wake to use the toilet. It did work although took 4-5 months of steady use. There is a considerable parent investment, but it is worth it!!! Initially my daughter didn't awaken to the alarm at all, and my husband or I would need to go into her room, awaken her, and take her to the toilet (then change her pajamas, etc). Later, she would wake up on her own but would be confused and we would need to suggest that she use the toilet. Finally, she now wakes on her own without wearing the alarm and there have been no accidents for 6 months. This device consists of a sensor that clips on the outside of REGULAR UNDERWEAR, senses moisture, and is attached with a cord to an alarm that can be clipped on the waist of pajama bottoms. The little sensor clip WILL NOT work on Nighttime diapers. For nights when accidents occurred I used Good Nites disposable bed mats (which have adhesive stickers to keep them in place) to protect the bedding under my daughter. Her pajamas would still get wet and would need changing. We actually bought several devices prior to the Shield Prime Alarm. Some failed because the alarm stopped working. Others failed because the delicate clips would get bent or broken. The Shield Prime Alarm seemed to finally do the trick, but I would caution users to protect the little sensor clips as they can break easily.

Most disappointing product I have bought
This is one of the most disappointing products I have bought on Amazon. If I could give 0 stars, I would. As a backstory, my son is 6 years old and has been potty trained for years but never managed to make it through the night without wetting himself. He is a heavy sleeper and wets a LOT. Soaking underwear, blankets, sheets, anything near him. He is finishing kindergarten and I wanted to get him out of disposable pull-ups and to make it through the night. I tried everything and talked to his doctor and decided to try this alarm. I was very hopeful especially after reading reviews. Honestly, now I looked through them again it seems like half are fake because they sound strangely alike!!Anyway, we got the alarm which has a sticker reward system, the main "shield" alarm and the sensor which attachs with a cord. Also has a "cleaning brush" but its useless. So the premise is that the alarm will sense the slightest wetness and go off prompting the kiddo to wake, and head to the toilet. I tested it out on a wet tissue and a wet towel and it went off so seemed to be working properly. The first night on my son, we realized it was rather large and heavy and had to be clipped on his underwear (kept pulling down the neck of his shirt.) After a few hours, it did go off and woke me up right away. I went in to wake my son and he was SOAKED. His entire underwear front to back, blankets, sheets. It definitely did NOT go off at the first sense of wetness. But I tried not to get discouraged and kept with it, hoping it would get better. NOPE!! Never did. Every time it went off in the night, I would jump up immediately to check my son and it was obvious he had finished peeing long before the alarm went off, so it what's the point? Even if he woke, it didn't matter. It was frustrating, PLUS you can't just wipe the sensor off...you have to clean every speck of anything off or it will keep going off when you reattach it to your kid. Some nights it took me 5 minutes just to clean it off all the while it kept beeping waking everyone in the house. We used this product for a month even in hopes that at least waking up with an alarm would help him wake from his deep sleep. Nope. I was exhausted after 30 days of this and returned this. VERY VERY upset and disappointed this product did not work right. :( My son is back to his pull ups for now...

Works wonders
Product works exactly as advertised. Took my 6 year old 8 nights to learn to sleep dry. Highly recommend.
