Windmill 6,000 BTU Window Air Conditioner, Cools up to 250 sq ft

Easy to install. Quite efficient, has no issues cooling down the room I put it in. I keep the room at 80 degrees and it is quite comfortable compared to rest of house. Best air conditioner I ever have had for that room. I did need help lifting it into the room window, but I happen to have a great neighbor who did most of it.

Super easy installation, unit is a little heavy might need 2 people if you have back or knee problems. Appearance is sleek and clean. Very quiet, even my mom asked if it was on. So far so good, doing what it's suppose to do.

I purchased this unit in 2023 and loved it. It cools my bedroom well and I enjoyed using the app, it looks great and is easy to install. Fast forward 2 years later I start experiencing technical bugs - disconnected from the app, random beeping, modes/temperatures changing on their own. I contacted Windmill support and they recommended a hard reset. After conducting this reset, I haven't been able to get the unit to cool for even 30 seconds before it starts malfunctioning. Windmill support said that the unit's control board malfunctioned, but since I am 1 year past the warranty, they would not provide me with a replacement despite this being a product defect. Don't waste your money. Having to now replace a $350 machine after just 2 years is a huge letdown, and I will be buying a cheap little frigidaire that will likely last 5+ years at a fraction of the price.

Was excited by the description but unfortunately it doesn’t meet it. This air conditioner does look nicer in window than standard. However, the unit is not quiet and I am hard of hearing. It does cool the room but I would say on eco it is not as effective. Also if you have vinyl windows the instructions say screw into window in multiple places. Nope. We had to find a way not to do that and ensure it didn’t fall out the window.

Mine’s an attic window install, and it does its job nicely, without much issues and noise. When the attic cools down, the cold air starts tumbling down through the staircase, cooling the lower room. App control is a plus and I can change the settings, turn it on/off and check power consumption. I have tested its operation with an Ecoflow River 2 Pro solar battery / inverter. This a/c unit can work even during a power outage or with solar panels using a proper rated inverter. Forget about temperature accuracy with the Eco mode, which I use when no one is in the room. The filter cleaning reminder feature is a gimmick and there should be a way to disable it. My filter remains clean, but the unit thinks it’s dirty. Need to have an adjustable timing on that. The filter cover is designed in a very accessible manner with magnets and all. The remote is nicely labeled but there is no proper place on the unit to drop it in. I liked the cut-to-size insulation panels, the adjustable sliders that fill until the window ends, and the semi-permanent style installation on a vinyl window. The outside grill is a nice touch and protects the condenser from damage. My only nit is the constant compressor cycling with thermostat engagements. There is no variable compressor in the unit. At this price-point this is a requirement and is a big miss by the company.

It is relatively quiet, quite easy to install. My room is just under 250 sq ft and this makes a noticeable difference. However, it often reads the temp right beside it (as successfully cooled) and then decreases the flow significantly even randomly adjusting to a different goal temperature (i.e., set at 72, it will reach 72 then adjust and it reads as set for 74.). I am not sure why it does this rather than just continuing on the same setting. It does respond when i adjust it again. I set up the app, but do not use it. I just use the remote it came with.

Just what I needed for a hot upstairs bedroom. This took me under 20 minutes to install. I admit I didn’t bother reading the instructions either. So simple. I’ve had it almost 2 months and I love it. Cools a decent size master bedroom and is not loud at all. I’m sleeping great. Best part…I can lay in bed and use my phone app to control the unit. I don’t regret the purchase.

The unit we had lasted many years but it went out on a day when it was over 100 degrees. I ordered this one since it was the highest rated one that could be delivered overnight. I was not disappointed! This unit surprised me with how cold it gets. Easy install and gets super cold really fast. I highly recommend this unit. I am using it in our Florida room that is about 10' x 17'.
