I bought this to protect my son’s phone. He has always been notorious for breaking things and being hard on his stuff so when he got a job for a farmer doing irrigation I knew I needed something very durable and tough and hopefully waterproof in case he dropped in in the mud or a ditch. I just opened this for the first time after 3 1/2 months of him working irrigation. He did drop it in mud and water a couple times but did recover it quickly. I was worried because the plastic cover screen had been beat to death so much that he could hardly see his screen, so I didn’t know quite what to expect when we opened it up, but inside it was awesome. There was some fine dust, but the phone was practically clean. I just wiped it up and not a scratch anywhere. I had left another thin screen protector on it so maybe that helped keep the screen from being scratched too. But needless to say, this case was worth every penny. If my son gets another irrigation job next summer, I will be getting a new one, since this screen cover is just too beat up to see through anymore, but I have no doubt that this case kept his phone from being broken or ruined by mud and water.

Case is not rated to IP68 Waterproof protection. After swimming for 30 minutes with the case never greater than 1' (12") beneath the surface, water was noted at the top of the screen. Photos might show the water collected in the case and on the back of the screen.Case had been water tested before installing phone, and been installed for approximately 3 months before the swim. Screws remained tight entire time and case worked well for protection during rain events.Do not swim with this case unless you've got the screw driver with you too disassemble and dry everything out properly.Will be looking at warranty information upon returning home.Won't go swimming with it again!Both stars are for general phone protection, although usage can be difficult at times with buttons near the edges.General weight is decent and you know when you're not carrying your phone after a while.The front screen is in no way gorilla glass. It has become scratched from general use /swiping. Feels more like a polycarbonate product.EDIT - My phone is 100% toasted due to the water infiltration from this case. It will be another couple of weeks before I can get to an apple store and see if any data can be recovered, including photos taken since my last backup. Black screen of death...Rating dropped to 1 star, would be 0 if possible. DO NOT BUY!!!

Really durable and waterproof.

Your phone is fine if you drop it at standing height and whatnot but you can’t put a pop socket on it and it doesn’t have an aluminum back cover, for this amount of money I think that’s a requirement.

Pros: Easy to install. Fit perfectly. Heavy duty case.Cons: The inner edge is too close to the outside buttons on the screen so they are difficult to press. However, the main problem is the touch function on the screen fails to work after a short time. When I took off the case it worked properly. When I put it back on, the touch function failed again so I had no choice but to remove it. Apparently, the IPhone 12 requires you to touch the metal part of the case regularly.
