Great question, our amber lights are 595nm and red lights are 630nm. You may often find other lights with red plastic covers, these only shift the spectrum of the light source underneath which have peak energy in the blue wavelength range. This means these lights may appear red, but they are still emitting short wavelength light. According to studies, wavelengths of light under 525nm are the ones that block melatonin production.
