Easy plug and play for Linux
I purchased this product to add Bluetooth capability on an old HP model 1548 dv entertainment notebook computer. I had installed Linux Mint 22. on the computer. The product arrives in a clamshell case. No written directions are provided. Instead you are directed to the manufacturer's web site where instructions are provided for various operating systems. I plugged the adapter into my computers usb port and booted it up. The adapter was immediately recognized. I tested the connectivity with various devices using Linux's Blueman. There were no problems in connectivity. This was strictly plug and play with no additional tweaks needed. I highly recommend this product. It should work well with any computer using Linux Mint 22.

HIDEEZ Bluetooth 4.0 Dongle
Using this HIDEEZ Bluetooth 4.0 dongle to restore the bluetooth function of my CyberpowerPC running Windows 11 24H2 could not have been easier! Simply plugged it in to an empty USB port and the bluetooth icon immediately popped up in the system tray. Pairing a set of Airpods and my Audio Technica headphones was easier than the native bluetooh module of the CyberpowerPC and I swear the headphones even sound better! Highly recommend this dongle for Windows 11 installations. I'll try using it later this week on a Linux installation just for kicks. Well spent $10!

NOT compatible with MacOS Ventura....
Despite what the manufacturer claims, this item is not compatible with MacOS Ventura on an iMac 2017. My BT and WiFi internal chip failed (very common malfunction) and this was presented as an option to avoid replacing the internal card. Unfortunately, it did not work. I tried every single possible troubleshooting option. Contacted the manufacturer several times (email option only) and each replied took 2+ days. It was very frustrating. I purchased 2 thinking one might be a dud but neither worked for me.Do NOT waste your time. This will NOT work with MAC OS.

Specific Use-Case: Mac Studio
I have a specific issue: My M1 Mac Studio Bluetooth sound cuts out infrequently but often enough to be frustrating. Using my Bose 700 headphones, sound from the Mac Studio cuts out for about a second and restores itself. I have a nearby iPad, and sound from it to my headphones is rock solid. Desperate for a fix, I tried the Hideez external Bluetooth dongle. Macs are weird about Bluetooth dongles, but the support document from Hideez made connecting and configuring the dongle a breeze. Ultimately, it did not resolve the Mac Studio Bluetooth audio problem, but I do not blame Hideez. Their Bluetooth dongle seemed well made and worked like a charm. And their support document included how to reverse the Mac configuration for the external dongle, and the process worked without a hitch. As for the Mac Studio, I'm more convinced than ever that Apple needed to focus more on its Bluetooth integration in the Mac Studio (and I had the same issue with an older Intel-based Mac Mini), because audio over a wired connection is just fine. I hope this helps someone experiencing the same or similar issue.

Great adapter for my application
I used this as a replacement for my motherboard bluetooth adapter in a mid 2012 edition of Macbook Pro. I have a 2019 Macbook Pro but the old one is still my favorite. It is running with Catalina OS and really can't upgrade the OS. The Catalina upgrade slowed it down a lot. Catalina has a quirk with the internal bluetooth adapter. Keeps disconnecting and no solutions work with the exception of using an external bluetooth. This works well and has greater distance.

Worked perfectly on my Linux laptop.
I have a Lenovo laptop with the Kubuntu Linux operating system installed. The unit is from 2012 and it works great, including the on-board Bluetooth. But I recently ordered a Bluetooth audio receiver that had a lot of issues with the on-board BT. The BT connection would be made successfully but would then repeatedly disconnect and reconnect, rendering it ineffective.I ordered one of these Hideez modules based on comments stating how well it worked with Linux. I plugged mine into a USB port and it was detected and worked great. I disabled the on-board BT controller on the laptop and retested the connection with the Bluetooth audio receiver and everything worked perfectly. Solved my problem and I recommend this if you need additional and updated Bluetooth connectivity.

Compatable with Noble Numbat
I bought the product because the built-in bluetooth on my new Lenovo ideapad 1i does not play nicely with the built-in wifi. I need to disable the builtin wifi with hciconfig in order to have moderately stable wifi. The most difficult thing was finding out how to disable hci0 (the built-in bluetooth interface).I have to disable hci0 every time I suspend my laptop, which is a bit of a pain, but not the fault of the new bluetooth interface. For the device itself, Ubuntu recognized it immediately. Pairing with my bluetooth mouse and headset was just like normal once I disabled hci0.

Didn't work for us on Windows OR Mac OS
The media could not be loaded. We have some older machines with sketchy BT we use to stream files throughout the house. It would be great to use BT devices with them so we don't have to move the machines from where they are in our attic or basement. We tried this on Windows & Mac. We couldn't get either OS to pick up BT devices like keyboards or mice. We tried with BT off, then turning it on... Nothing. The dongle flashes so it's getting power. Other devices broadcast. But the BT connection never happens. This even knocked out the outdated BT module in our ancient workhorse Mac in our attic. We have the worst luck with Bluetooth. We can't even get this dongle to work.Trying to get tech support involve emailing an external company that probably won't even get back to us for such a tiny purchase. :(
