A much loved gift
I bought this for my mum as an extra gift and she’s loved it. Sharing the book with her friends born the same year and dipping in and out. Would recommend

Full of facts and interesting stuff!
This is the second book in this series I have bought for the birthdays of friends - and I reckon I'll be buying a few more. I bought the 1952 book last year and the chap I bought it for was delighted. I too was pretty impressed at the amount of info that is fitted into a small book like this. This 1953 issue doesn't disappoint. Although well before my time, I found the comparisons to be drawn between life then and life now to be mind boggling. The books really gives you a sense of how far we have progressed in the last 70 years! This is £10 really well spent, Well researched, intelligently written and often light-hearted, but always interesting. I hope there'll be one for 1968 soon.By the way - the bloke I was named after gets a mention in this book as well ... a nice little bonus :)Brilliant - keep 'em coming.

lots of great stuff from the year.
Full of glorious information from the entertainment of the time hence Maryline on the front cover to all the pivotal sports and stars of the era. Even the top ten of the time Iused this to quiz friends on lots of amazing topics ie.sport ,entertainment and the big issues of the time. Sat the 11plus on page 33 no looking at the answers at the back of the book some questions easy for a grown up but the maths was quite difficult. A good read and even a reference book to dip into when needed. Great photos great stories well presented and reasonabaly priced be back for more would make a great mordern reference libary when more are producede.

A fascinating read
We bought this for my father’s 70th birthday - and he loved it! It was packed full of genuinely fascinating facts and witty anecdotes; seems thoroughly researched. It’s well put together, the print quality is good throughout and the photos are high resolution. The present was well received and I eagerly anticipate 1976! ;)
