I'm not into tarot, star signs and all that mumbo jumbo, but having been playing a lot of Assassins Creed Valhalla recently I become kinda curious as to what rune stones are and what their purpose is.Anyway, this set arrived in a branded box, emblazoned with some mystical sign and a brief intro as to what rune stones are.Inside you get a resealable polythene bag containing your rune stones.. but they aren't stones but rather some thin wooden shapes that have had the various symbols burnt on to them.Slightly disappointed as "stone" denotes something more on the lines of pebbles or, well, stones, not wood.But anyway, wood is what you get and having the symbols burnt on instead of printed means they'll stay on longer and not get worn off. Plus they smell nice too, if you like that scorched wood smell at least.Also included is a black velvety draw string storage bag, slightly spoilt by the garish gold material top, but that may just be me finding it looking a bit tacky. All black would have done for my tastes.Finally you get a nice little booklet which explains what each rune symbol means and a brief explanation as to how to use the rune stones.I won't pretend that I understand runes and their mystical "powers" and whatnot, but I guess as a starter pack then this set will see you on the road to enlightenment, if you put the time in to a bit me research and reading.

Good value and quality with out bright distraction with colour

My teenage daughter has been wanting to learn how to use runes. This is a nice starter set comprising of 25 runes, an explanatory booklet and little storage pouch.The runes are a little on the cheap side, made from a thin MDF that has an almost cardboard feel and weight. On one hand it's a tad disappointing, but on the other, they're not terribly expensive. I would imagine they're better for beginners as those with experience will probably want to use something of higher quality.The runes come presented in a little box and as well as being a good introductory set for beginners, they'd make for a quirky gift idea too.

The stones feel like they're made of MDF and the bags feels squeaky; far from a velvet texture. The set really does look cheap. The symbols are clear to see, but each one has bleeding/smudging. This just makes it look messy. These rune stones are my first set, although I am familiar with tarot and oracle cards. There's five different spreads in the back of the booklet and I tried out three of them. Each rune has a small paragraph and to my surprise, the messages really were spot on. The only niggle I have is that some of the sentences don't make sense grammatically, and take a bit of guess work to figure them out. However, I could come away with 1-3 points from each rune, which I was pleased with. The answers aren't wishy washy either. Plus, there's a mixture of positivity and being realistic. Overall, although I started off not too impressed with the set, by the end, I was pleased with the readings that I received and did for another person.
