I couldn’t believe these were so cheap and for the price you get hours of fun. Any Batman lover will love these and allows the user to make up stories based on the pictures on the dice. They are portable and keep the kids busy for hours! I bought mine for my 5 year old.

I have a reluctant story making 12 year old boy. Having the dice, we were immediately able to create a story of aliens, with fish scented fire. Having the dice removed some of the pressure and this set has so many options and possibilities. Fantastic purchase for any age.

Loving dice and discovering these - I just had to have some!I stumbled upon a video on YouTube where this game was being demonstrated by the inventors. (I'd never heard of it) At first, like most people I guess, I was a little sceptical as to whether it would be the success it appeared it could be when I actually came to have a go myself. We're all a little shy I guess, and so the thought of rolling random images on cubes, and then having to `link' those images up to tell some kind of story (which could easily be nonsense - depending on what was rolled!) sounded a bit embarrassing to say the least... However; I thought I'd give these a go; not least because I love games involving dice (and these are nothing but dice with images instead of numbers, and so were so appealing to me) and also the fact that the people I saw playing with them seemed to really to be enjoying themselves!Having ordered my set - I couldn't wait to received them I was so eager and ready to go - and I wasn't disappointed! The very first throw, gave me quite an amazing set of images that I was fortunate enough to be able to think of a `link' without too much thought, which was good, as I would think a bad set of images on the very first go might influence newbies into thinking this may not be a good idea - but as it was, because of my good experience, in the very first instant my confidence and imagination had both `fired'! I then was surprised yet again when introducing them to my partner, who doesn't really enjoy dice games as much as myself, and who I thought would be pretty hopeless at it - proved to be much better than myself!Okay; they are a little expensive (and dice always are) but they ARE excellent quality (and so they should be) they come in a very neat little box with a magnetic fastener, and there are `expansion' sets.All in all a VERY good product; a challenging and imaginative game that I think is good for both young and old alike, and particularly for elderly people, in that it would be a great way to be sure their minds remained active!Five stars for a wonderful, useful and enjoyable little idea!

I adore these story cubes! I had never heard of them until a friend told me all about them and brought her child's story cubes (this actual product) around to me to show me them. I was immediately impressed by the quality of the box as they come in a very strong, well designed box, closing with a magnetic strip. The interior of the box has not been ignored and looks very elegant and expensive, nothing has been spared in creating these. The cubes themselves have defined images that allow for multiple inferences. For example, a footprint could be used as "As we walked further, we came across an enormous footprint" or a child could simply use it as "We then went for a walk" because it is a foot. It is totally adaptable and dependent on the child or indeed adult using them...won't lie, I will be playing with these for my own muse and also to show my children what fun can be had.I am more interested in resources like these lately as I am now a Home Educator and have been for almost a year. One of my daughters(9 years old) is very resistant and had many issues at school resulting in extreme anxiety. When she is faced with a large task such as "Write a story about a man with a horse" she completely melts down and can not even start due to the anxiety and magnitude of the task. However once we received these story cubes, which I must say arrived so fast that I had not time to tell my friend I had purchased them and simply messaged her to tell them they were here as they arrived the next day, she was the first to want to try them.This set was purchased with two extension packs, the mythic and intergalactic ( I think they are named). I printed off some pretty bordered paper and off she went writing two full pages of story which plainly showed how much the cubes had helped. She had a smile on her face and thoroughly enjoyed using them. Anyone with an anxious child will understand the value of this.I look forward to using these cubes consistently with my children for many years to come and I feel so lucky to have them. They have unlocked my children's imaginations in a way they can express.

I use these for drama story telling and they work so well from ages 4 and up

My son is autistic and is home schooled. These dice encourage imagination. We have these in three or four different versions and at the end of every day we create a story each using the dice.Best find of the year!

I use this with the children I tutor, they love using them.

My teen loves Story Cubes and had this collection on his Christmas list. He was so thrilled to see this under the tree this year. A great collection for a great price!

I bought these to help my eldest generate stories. Everyone loves them and we have spent more hours giggling over silly stories than I expected. They are a good size, have good contrast and I will be picking up other versions soon

This purchase was for a 6 year old boy. That being said, this is a treasure of a game or activity that just about anyone can do.The components are solid and definitely meant to withstand use. Simply put, they are dice with pictures on them housed in a tin.With the role of the cubes you can play in any number of ways as you interpret the symbols and begin to weave a tale. Watching others be creative is a joy.1. Solo play where one person uses all the cubes to tell the listener a single story and then you switch.2. We’ve played where we are different characters telling the same story from different perspectives. (Super interesting way to help your child learn about seeing things differently.)3. We’ve also played where we roll and then we attempt to go back forth selecting one cube at a time making the story as absurd as possible.If you’re short on time or you have younger children you can do less cubes. Even my nephew at 2.5 years old was able to join in using one or two cubes with some prompting.In the end it is a creative and fun way to spend time with people. This is such a fun game for any age, including adults. The mystery edition is great for kids who like creepy scary stories. Would make a great gift for any kid. Highly recommend!
