They will hear you coming with this bell that can be switched 'on' and 'off' depending what the trail calls for. Solid brass bell has a crisp, clean sound. Every day, millions of mountain bike riders head out on the trails to do what they love. And while they’re out there, enjoying the experience, they're also likely to encounter, other riders, walkers, horses, and wildlife. Unfortunately, there’s never really been an effective way for riders to pass and audibly communicate their presence to other trail users in a polite and non-aggressive manner. Until now. The Timber! MTB bell lets off a polite, gentle 'ding-ding' as you ride along rough terrain. The sound is familiar to other trail users who hear you coming without you needing to manually 'sound' your bell (which if done at the wrong time can seem aggressive. When you don't want your Timber! bell to be 'singing', simply flick the lever which will instantly silence the bell. Perfect for enthusiast mountain bikers who want a highly functional bell without ruining the looks of their awesome mountain bike!

Great for commuting as well
I bought this for my daily cycle commute which involves twenty minutes on riverside walkways sharing with joggers, dog walkers etc and twenty minutes on city roads. This is one of the best gadgets I've ever bought for my bike. I was frustrated at being shouted at for using my bell on the shared walkway, or shouted at for not using it enough. If this bell is angled at 45 degrees it will almost constantly make a soft jingle noise as I go along, a bit like the sound of an old fashioned newsagent's door opening. If the way is particularly pot-holed, it will get more noisy but can be easily turned off. Conversely, on smooth, straight ways it may go quieter. In general though, it jingles along for most of my journey. Reaction from people on the walkways has been positive: firstly, everyone knows there's a bike behind them and its approximate speed, a couple of people have thanked me for using it and one lady said it made a very pleasant sound.

I can now ride the busy trails again!
Very good indeed. You only have to turn it on for a few seconds when still quite distant from people and they hear you coming, once they have clocked you it can be turned off again. For busier sections you can leave it 'on'. Also surprised that it works on roads and tarmac too and you can give the tiniest wiggle of bars to add an extra jingle if needed. I thought I would need a standard bell as well but don't think I will. This has enabled me to use the nice local tracks again that I had stopped using as they got busier during lock down. No need to break so often and less conflict with other users.

Great but needs a small design change.
Would give 5 but I have had to modify it myself to stop it ringing when in the off position. They could easily fix this if they added a ring of felt where the clapper sits. The bell rings really well and I have now stopped scaring the hell out of people. Makes me feel like Moses as people part to let me past! Please update the design.

Fits on drop bars
Really good bell for my adventure/cyclocross bike. Fits nicely on the drop bars. It does get stuck in the off position occasionally after releasing catch. Could be a bit louder and less expensive. Overall pleased

Utterly revolutionary!!
WOW, what a difference. Bells on bikes always cause friction when used in urban areas, this is the utter opposite. People turn around with a smile on their face expecting Santa Claus. A wonderful product, well made, strong, reliable. Amazing.

Wonderful product.
This seems like a perfect solution for mtb trails and other shared trails. The tinkling sound is just like a wind-chime, kind of suitable for the great outdoors. It certainly brings a smile to my face every time. Really useful for forgetful people like me. Now my bell will ring automatically and I can turn it off completely if not required.

Nice try but fails at the job.
Had this for a while now but it's really just to quiet to be heard by most people. It hardly works on smooth paths at all. Good idea but flawed.

Early warning for those around you
Dogs usually run back to their owner.People hear you from a great distance away so you dont have to shout for them to know you are coming. even the smallest bump makes the bell ting.
