The sharpest knife I’ve ever used
It’s just the sharpest knife I’ve ever used and cuts fresh home baked bread as though it is butter with hardly any pressure. The blade deserves protection to avoid damage and to protect the user. It is so good I spent a couple of hours making this block, but it should have been provided with a tailor made scabbard

Just the perfect knife for a variety of roles
Bought because it had none of the 1 and 2 star reviews for poor quality of all other knives viewed as I was specifically looking for a knife to cut sourdough loaves. The blade is thin but strong, serrated and firmly fixed in its handle. So far I've used it successfully to cut sourdough (very hard crusts) fresh baked French sticks (with no tearing) fresh baked wholemeal loaves (thin, accurate slices possible) cold meats on non-metallic board and tomatoes (very thin slices possible) altogether the perfect knife!

Spend the extra for fibrox
The knife is as sharp as you would expect but the 'classic' handle is a big step down in quality from the fibrox handle. Worth spending the extra for the fibrox handle

A kitchen must!
Practically every Chef I work alongside or know has a version of this knife (as well as the little serrated tomato knife - they are the mutts nuts, get a few you won’t look back)!! This version is slightly shorter than the bread style knife which in my opinion is better for my needs and the handle is better formed. Comfortable and very easy to use. Superb price and it will take a serious amount of punishment. Doesn’t cost the earth and is easily replaceable without costing the earth. Very sharp out of the pack it will tend to most kitchen requirements, I’d be wary and extra careful for a few weeks until the “factory sharpness “ has faded slightly, a serrated edge cut is a bugger to stop flowing and heal over a clean straight edged blade. A really must have knife in the set. Superb price, superb product.

Really well balanced bread knife
Got this to replace my Mercer bread knife, which is just too wide and angled harshly to the left. The thinner straighter blade of this Victorinox pastry knife has me cutting dead straight bread slices with no crumbs everywhere. Technique still matters - I found Bake with Jack how to slice bread useful - and knife matters a LOT.
