ZyxelMulty X Tri-Band AC3000 Whole Home Wi-Fi Mesh System. Router and Satellite - Pack of 2 [WSQ50]

After countless problems with Netgear’s Orbi, it was with some trepidation that I ordered the Multy X. Whatever reservations I had were soon set aside; it took less than ten mins to get everything up and running. With consistent backhaul speeds approaching 500 Mbps, the kit has provided flawless service thus far.The controlling app is lacking some desirable functionality (port forwarding and the ability to block sites) but the basics are spot on and work like a dream!The kit seems well made and comes with a two-year warranty. Given that it's also cheaper than many competing mesh-type products, including Netgear's Orbi, I would not hesitate to recommend the Multi X if you need fast, reliable wi-fi coverage over a large area.Update (18 December)A firmware update arrived this morning with much new functionality: port forwarding, bridge mode and DMZ. One click and five minutes later the kit was updated and up and running again. A flawless update process...Update (20 January)With more than 30 connected devices, the Multy X hasn’t missed a beat. No issues whatsoever, unlike the Netgear Orbi which it replaced. Several hundred reports on Netgear’s Orbi forum of ongoing issues confirm that returning the kit was a good call.Update (27 March)The kit continues to perform exceptionally well - not a single issue thus far. It does not surprise me that it has come top in a recent test of 10 similar products by PC Pro magazine.

Pros:- easy to setup via Bluetooth (but you MUST HAVE Internet connection on your phone to do it)- supports ethernet backhaul- each Multy X unit has 4 ethernet ports, so if you're using ethernet backhaul you can connect 3 extra devices to each unit- signal is pretty good and it's dual band of course- better coverage and stronger signal than my previous router Netgear WAC 104.- you can use in both bridge and router modes- firmware is updated automatically (you only need to tell station to reboot via app)- expandable to more devices -- I currently have 2 Zyxel Multy X and originally though I'd also need a Zyxel Multy Mini -- but the signal is strong and I don't need to buy more.Cons:- no dedicated web UI, configuration ONLY via the Zyxel app- very little customization you can do- even though it has 4 ethernet ports you can't configure VLANs on ports- even if you're using ethernet backhaul you still see "unused" WiFi network for "WiFi backhaul" -- waste of energy and pollution of both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz (see picture).- stations like to connect to Internet (AWS) -- I don't like that devices on my local network want to connect to "outside" whenever they like- I'm unsure of the wholes on the back and HOW to mount it on the wall or anywhere (see picture).Be careful that Zyxel Multy X only works with Zyxel Multy X and Zyxel Multy Mini, it DOES NOT WORK with Zyxel Multy Y.Overall it's a decent device that could only get better in the future with better firmware. It works pretty much out of the box and is easy to set up. It supports bridge mode (works as access point) and router. Signal is definitely strong.

Went from 7Mbps to 400+Mbps in the diagonally opposite end of the house. 1 Multy on router, 1 on floor 3.Pros:- Quick to set up, zero tech skills required (I'm a software developer)- Pretty nice design. Slightly bigger than I imagined- Bridge mode is a one button press in the app- Ethernet backhaul coming in a future update- Zero issues after a weekCons:- Mobile app used to configure all features is _very_ slow. Fortunately you don't need to open it much beyond setup- Mobile app isn't very pretty- No simple way to access advanced options like you would on a Zyxel router

Unclear online description - the unit is sold as a faster replacement for your existing router but there are no instructions in the box and you have to be an IT expert to set it up as a new router rather than purely as an extender for your existing system.The app you download to set up this product up is differently described on the App Store where it is described as ‘Zyxel Multi’ rather than the ‘Multy X’ mentioned in the sparse QuickStart sheet you get - another source of confusion.The setup App is supposedly simple to use, but it stuck at the ‘connect Ethernet cable’ window and kept asking me to plus a cable into the Multy, even though I’d done that, had tried a replacement cable and knew the connections were all fine.The customer support is useless. There’s a telephone number online, but you can’t get through to a human and it cuts you off and tells you to email instead. I tried the online chat after this and was told I’d have to log into the DHCP settings on my existing router to correct the issue. I’m not a techie so couldn’t do that. They also let slip there are problems with some iPhones on the use of the App at set-up.This is going back to Amazon for a refund. It’s the worst piece of electronic kit I’ve bought in a long time.

Wir bewohnen ein zweigeschossiges Haus mit einer ungefähren Wohnfläche von 140 qm. Zusätzlich sind Dachgeschoss und Keller ebenfalls ausgebaut und werden genutzt. Bisher fand die Verteilung des WLAN über einen Hauptrouter und einen Repeater im 1. Stock statt. Dabei wurde mit einer gleichlautenden Bezeichnung von Hauptnetz + Repeaternetz gearbeitet, um die Bequemlichkeit nicht allzu sehr zu strapazieren. ;)Bei dieser Konstellation trat oftmals das Problem auf, dass Geräte bei einem Etagenwechsel den Zugang nicht selbstständig wechselten und mit zwei oder einem Balken Empfangsstärke vor sich hindümpelten, in manchen Fällen der Empfang dann einfach kurz abbrach, bevor der neue Zugang verbunden war. Das nervte uns irgendwann so sehr, dass wir beschlossen, auf die Mesh-Technologie umzusteigen. Unsere Wahl fiel dann auf die Zyxel Multy X.Positiv:- sehr einfaches Aufstellen und Einrichten (5-6 Minuten)- sehr gute Netzabdeckung im gesamten Haus, einschliesslich Terrasse- sehr übersichtliches und leicht verständliches Konfigurationsmenü- die Verarbeitung ist augenscheinlich sehr hochwertig- sehen schick aus ^^Negativ:- die Konfigurationsmöglichkeiten sind nicht allzu vielfältig- es kann kein eigener IP-Range vergeben werden- es können keine statischen IP-Adressen vergeben werdenDie negativen Punkte würden eigentlich eine Abwertung um 2-3 Sterne rechtfertigen, da wir aber nach einem fast dreimonatigen Betrieb bisher auf keine neagtiven Auswirkungen dieser Kritikpunkte gestossen sind, ziehen wir lediglich einen Stern ab.Insgesamt sind wir äusserst zufrieden.

Rien à redire, alors oui certes la configuration est certes plus longue et moins facile que des produits de grandes marques ...Mais le résultat est bien présents ! Un réseaux wifi digne de se nom et 2 box super jolieLes vitesses atteint avec de la fibre sont juste énorme !!Je recommande vivement

La configuration du premier Multy X a été réalisée avec grande simplicité.Cependant, le deuxième est impossible à configurer "BLE introuvable"Et concernant l'application...Elle est utilisable pour configurer le premier Multy XMais impossible de se connecter, l'application reste figée sur le logo MULTY ZYXEL

Ich bin so begeistert das ich jetzt auch etwas schreiben wollte da ich selber sehr vielRezension lese. Wir haben ein Haus mit Stahlbetons auf zwei ebene. Router Fritz Box 7590 steht im Erdgeschoss und hatten im Dachgeschoss immer Internet Probleme beim Filme gucken. Zuerst hatte ich auch über Amazon ein günstigeres Mesh-System Tenda Nova MW6 gekauft hatte aber im Dachgeschoss sehr häufige Abbrüche. Alles wieder eingepackt Frustriert zurück geschickt und weiter gesucht und habe mich dann für Zyxel Multy AC 3000 endschieden. Ein teil unten am Router angeschlossen habe (100 Mbps Leitung) und das andere oben im Dachgeschoss, alles stabiler als vorher aber trotzdem beim Filme gucken wieder leichte Abbrüche zum verrückt werden.Ich habe danach zusätzlich noch für die erste Etage 1er Pack-Erweiterungs Kit gekauft. Und das Koppeln mit dem anderen beiden Geräten ging Kinderleicht und siehe da endlich alles perfekt ohne ruckeln und Abbrüche.Etwas hoch der Preis aber dafür stabile Verbindung.

Wir wohnen in einer 110qm grossen Wohnung welche die eine und andere Stahlbetonwand besitzt. Wir hatten daher eine Fritzbox 7490 in Verbindung mit einem AVM Repeater 1750e und einem AVM Repeater 1160 in Benutzung. Leider funktionierte dies, trotz Mesh Funktion, nicht wirklich gut. Die Clients verloren beim Wechsel der Räumen häufig die Verbindung. Es dauerte dann immer recht lange bis wieder eine Verbindung bestand. Nun haben wir die Repeater aus dem Netz genommen und nutzen die Fritzbox 7490 nur noch als DSL Modem und Router. Das WLAN stellt ab sofort das Zyxel Multy X her. Und zwar so gut, dass nun einfach überall WLAN mit Höchstgeschwindigkeit besteht. Beide Multys haben die volle Internetgeschwindigkeit meines Anschlusses. Da war vorher nicht dran zu denken. Ich bin begeistert. Man muss halt wissen, dass das Multy X nur über eine App eingerichtet und verwaltet werden kann. Die App könnte wirklich etwas reaktionsfreudiger sein. Aber wie oft stellt man am WLAN schon was um? Für mich eine klare Kaufempfehlung.
