Eterna XS63W 2-Way Push Button Switch, ON-OFF Operation

Really impressed by the quality of this, easy to fit and works a charm. It’s double insulated so safe, and the switch is nice and sensitive so reacts exactly when you need it to!

A straightforward, simple switch which seems to be well made and sufficiently sturdy. The switch action is smooth and precise, and works exactly as one would hope. It was easy to wire up and install as a replacement for a failed switch which, on inspection seemed to be too complicated for its own good.The written instructions were clear, although in truth, little instruction is needed except as reassurance that the obvious way of fitting is indeed correct.I am very pleased to have opted for this switch, a couple of pounds more expensive than an alternative offered, but from its reviews, seemingly not as solidly designed and manufactured as this one. Altogether very good value.

This is a neat little switch which worked well when installed to switch on an led bar in a walk-in cupboard. Only 4 stars as it needs 3mm x 30mm screws to mount it. I have many screws but this is a very thin size. Had to buy a packet most of which will never be used (Wickes does a 25 pack). For a minimal cost the supplier could provide something that does the complete job.

The Eterna XS63W (AS 20 on the outer cover) contains a 2Amp 230V AC switch specified to meet BS EN60669-1.It is well designed and safe, and accompanied by clear and comprehensive installation instructions. Only one error, the final step in the installation instructions, the top does not fit if the base is fixed first. This means the fixing screws need to be longer than the 20mm depth of the box, I used some  1 ¼” No.4 CSK Posi .The switch is normally closed, and with my samples from the available 6.5mm of travel at least the first 2mm is required to open the contacts. (Cupboard door closed, light off.)The switch inside has recessed screw terminals suitable for the smallest normal flex wiring.The base has a wide cord clamp to secure both the in-coming and out-going leads.The clip-on top cover needs tools (or brute force) to remove once installed.It is a refreshing change to find a proper double insulated safe switch when the vast majority of cupboard switches currently flooding the market are potentially lethal and should not be on sale. I only found this Eterna example after half an hour of sorting through Az and other on-line sources. It should be top of the search list.

Did the job exactly as required, easy to wire and fit. Would like to have seen the spec. Actually on the switch (class2 etc) but pleased overall.

Solid, works well. Slightly fiddly to connect up, but offers good double-insulated protection.

I was pleasantly surprised on how well made the product is. It is double insulated and there are no exposed terminals. I had sort of expected the terminals to be exposed but the switch unit is enclosed in the outer case. The terminals are strong and the outer case has a strong cable grip to keep any strain off the electrical terminals. It did not come with fixing screws but the 3mm x 30mm Turbogold screws from Screwfix fit perfectly and the countersunk heads fit flush with the switch case. The outer case gives a rating of 1A but on the inner switch unit it says 2A! Someone needs to sort this out. It was very easy to fit. I am very pleased with them and they are doing the job I bought them for.
