Amtech A1595 1lb (0.45kg) Dead Blow Hammer

Very good mallet. I use it every day since I bought it.

Bought this item when dismantling a classic motorbike engine . Ideal size and weight for working on smaller aluminium casings , did the job required in minutes without causing any damage to casings that had been together for about 40 yrs .

This is a perfectly good dear blow hammer, however, I bought it to back some tiles off the wall with a chisel and I'd say it was definitely too light for that, you want something at least twice the weight of this. Not the fault of the hammer, but if you're buying for similar purposes this may be useful info. If there is a 2.5lb version then get that.

Told to get one of these by a mechanic friend, not used it yet but feels sturdy and with the shot inside, it gives you a decent wallop from a short distance.

Great product for the money. Solid enough to work on cars with easily, and doesn't feel like it's going to give up any time soon.

Lighter than other hammers I have of this type but ideal for where a lighter touch is needed but still capable of banging in those tent pegs etc

The hammer weighs 750g not 450g as it says in description. The quality is what you would expect from mass produced plastic moulded items.

Der Hammer funktioniert, wie er soll und die Verarbeitung ist für den Preis völlig OK. Leider stinkt er sehr intensiv nach Chemie, was sich auch nach mittlerweile 8 Monaten nicht gebessert hat. Unangenehm und vermutlich auch nicht gesund. Das das nicht am Preis liegt sehe ich daran, dass ich parallel einen schwereren rückschlagfreien Hammer gleicher Bauart von einer anderen Firma bestellt hatte, der vom erstan Tag an geruchlos war und in der selben Preisliga spielt.Schade.
