7artisans 35mm F1.4 Mark Ⅲ Full Frame Manual Focus Prime Lens Large Aperture Nikon Z mount
The lens is well finished, aperture and focus rings have good rotational resistance. I have an IRIX 11mm rectilinear lens and a ROKINON 12mm fisheye lens for night sky imaging and this 7artisans 35mm F1.4 Mark Ⅲ Full Frame Manual Focus Prime Lens will join them. The daylight image provided was from my Nikon Z9 just minutes after the lens arrived. 1/[email protected], ISO 160, aperture priority, pattern metering at an 8,256X5,504 image size for a very fine view of "Coconut Island".

Does not work with Leica LT2, won’t solidly mount.
Lovely lens. Feels great. But, did not work with Leica LT2, won’t solidly mount. Screen locks up, likely waiting for lens to mount securely?Ordered it the day the mark iii lens was announced. But was shipped the mark ii. Now that i’m returning it, it says i’m returning the mark iii. Likely because they just updated this page instead of making a new page for the mark iii.L mount? Hmm.

Didn’t live up to the hype for me
This is a fine lens. The build quality is definitely very good. It feels solid and precise. That said, based on all of the hype I was expecting a lot better optical performance. It’s ok but nothing special. I used it on my Sony A7Riv, so perhaps the performance is better on the lower resolution sensors

Affordable Everyday Carry With Character
I like it. Super light and looks awesome on an A7C/A7C2. The size of it works really well with that camera's form factor too. Plenty of bokeh. Focus wheel and aperture control are nice and smooth. I prefer soft images wide open as opposed to "tack sharp", don't get me wrong this lens can get super sharp stopped down, but it has a nice soft character to it wide open combined with the imperfect nature of manual focus. Favorite everyday carry lens after the 50mm 1.05. Just can't beat that one 😅

Very Well Made!
Recently acquired this lens for my Leica SL (L-mount). It is extremely well-built. Very solid.

3d Pop to the Images ( RF Mount )
I bought this Lense because it has a Character of classic lenses. Lot of new lenses are sharp corner to corner and super expensive but they do not have 3d Pop. It is an essential characteristic of a Lense to set your picture or video apart from the rest of the world. This Lense paired with Canon EoS R is a wonderful budget powerhouse.

Infinity focus is terrible!
First off, this is a really nice looking lens on a Sony full frame body. The all metal build is excellent. The focus ring was smooth. However, when it came to focusing at infinity, the lens loses its appeal. I was hoping to use the lens for street photography and some landscapes but the infinity focus was horrible. I could not bring the center of the frame in focus. Images were too blurry and rendered the photos unusable. I'm not sure if I received a bad copy. Where this lens shines is in environmental portraits or even close ups of a subject that is about 1 foot (0.3 meters) away. I would pass on this lens if you're hoping to get sharpness out of your images.

Not sharp enough at wide apertures
I really wanted to like this lens as the build quality and overall size are fantastic. The focus ring is nice and smooth and it's a joy to take pictures with. The aperture ring clicks nicely and there is also a switch to have a clickless aperture. Resistance to flare is also very good.Unfortunatley, the lens is extremely soft at f1.4 to f2.8. At f4.0, the lens is very sharp. I have other manual lenses that are just as sharp at f4.0 so this one had to be returned. If it were at least decently sharp at f1.4-2.8, it would be a keeper! There is also significant barrel distortion, but easily corrected in Lightroom. Vignetting is very high at large apertures but that didn't bother me to much. Again, easily correctable. It's really too bad as the lens has a lot of potential. Hopefully the optics will improve in the future.
