Excellent. Perfect for new & possibly experienced archers alike.
First a warning to other newbie archers: if your bow comes before your arm guard just wait for the arm guard before you start shooting. I shot 40 arrows or so just having a blast before I looked at my arm and realized I should wait. Next regarding wearing it: all you need to do is look up how to use a "locking ladder buckle". It's pretty low tech, but works like a charm. The straps are stretchy, but firm enough to stay in place when you set them and move adound.I was specifically looking for a leather one with breathable air slots and this perfect. Of course being real leather it will have a bit of a smell, but it's very sturdy and feels like there's two wires running throughout it to help keep it's shape and structure. Two for the price of one is also incredible value. Possibly the best arm guards on Amazon.

I ordered 3 of these armguards, one in each color. My two kids (ages 8 and 6) and I all shoot recurves. I am a short gal 5'2", so I figured one of these would work for me as well.First, this looks to be well made. Comfy wide straps with easy to use, adjustable buckles. The material of the main body is athletic mesh, the type you find on high-end running shoes. On the outside of the armguard (the side that will take the abuse from occasional string slaps), there is an extra layer of tougher black mesh. This is why the colors look darker in the "stock" photos. The actual colors of these armguards are blaze orange, lime green, and bright fuschia. The mesh looks and feels like it will breathe well in hot weather, which beats most of the leather/plastic armguards I have seen. It's the same mesh as my running shoes, and they breathe great. The only reason I did not give this item 5 stars is the size. When this says "Youth" armguard, they mean "teenage", not "child" size. I am adding a couple photos, by which the rulers I laid out can show that the size is better suited to a teen or a small adult.I will add, I have been a "serious" competitive archer for years, and I have seen my share of armguards. If your string is hitting your armguard more than 1-2 times a day (even for a kid!) , find a coach to help you work on your form- the armguard isn't the problem.
