The 'Acid Test' Is Yet To Come
I could simply say "I have not noticed any bites on me since i applied some of this insect-repellent spray" but that would not be a basis for a review, as i have not observed any insects around where I have been. So, at this stage, this is a tentative review. I am rarely stung/bitten by stinging/biting insects; I often keep a better target close by: my wife; maybe she tastes better than me!So, anyway, I sprayed a little of the Mosquito Company's Insect Repellent on my arm, sniffed it & waited for any allergic reaction: smell & reaction were fine. No bugs attacked me.The repellent is supplied in an attractive bottle & in reasonable quantity. The original bottle will be perfectly suitable for home use, but I will probably transfer some to one of the small plastic spray bottles I have for packing in my bag to take on hikes, picnics, sailing or canoe trips, or the likes, to reduce size, weight & vulnerability to breakage. My plastic spays bottles have previously contained body chemicals/spirits (thoroughly cleaned afterwards) & I do not anticipate that there will be any adverse reaction between this insect repellent & the plastic spray bottle. The 'acid test' will be when my wife tries it in the presence of stinging insects, including the odd mossie in our home bedroom! I will update this review in the light of experience in battle - the battle to stay sting/bite-free.

Plant based.
I really like that this is plant based but will still repel mosquitos, midges and ticks.I get bitten really badly by mosquitos, even in the uk, it's like I have a flashing beacon on my head saying "bite me"! So I have to make sure I use a repellent all the time in the summer.I am now trying to use natural products as they are better for your skin and the environment. The scent of this is quite pleasant (eucalyptus) and much nicer than the deet spray. It is a little early in the year to see if this works but I have tried a different make of natural repellent with similar ingredients whilst abroad and it worked a treat. So I will be using this at home and if it's effective, taking it with me when I go on holiday this year.

Works well but heavy bottle
Seems to work well and kept midges off me and my daughter on our recent visit to Scotland but the bottle is quite heavy glass rather than plastic, so not sure how suitable it would be for taking on a flight/holiday abroad.

A natural plant-based insect repellent spray with no Deet
I'm not normally bothered by mozzies when I'm with my wife as the little biters make straight for her instead of me – so she uses spray insect repellents more than I do. We can't do a full review of this natural mosquito repellent spray by The Mosquito Company at present as it is the middle of January and the biters are currently away – but we will return here next season when they return. This UK-made plant-based insect repellent spray is more natural than some others and features PMD active Citroidiol. (Eucalyptus Citriodora Oil) rather than harsh chemicals such as Deet. This travel-size 100ml glass spray bottle is currently unavailable from Amazon – but I would expect it to be more expensive than traditional Deet Jungle Formula. However, if you like the idea of more natural products then this plant-based spray by The Mosquito Company could be worth trying – four stars for now.

A strong smell but not unpleasant
The spray primarily consists of Eucalyptus and citrus based oils which do deter insects really well.It absorbs into the skin and doesnt leave any oil residue but be careful not to get it on your clothes as some may stain but should wash out.The bottle is actually made of glass so be mindful of that if carrying it with you when out and about.Ill be giving this a good work out this summer.

Easy to apply. Seems to ‘go on’ heavily. Drys rapidly. Washes off easily. Smell a bit strong.
I quite like the way the spray works but it seems to go on quite generously. For a few seconds I was dismayed by how much was on my skin but it dries very quickly. Not instantly though.I was expecting it to smell ‘fruity’ or more clearly ‘citrus’ but it’s much more chemical than that, IMHO. It’s not an offensive smell though. The bulk of the applied material seems to wash off, with soap, very easily. So far I’ve not had any negative reaction to using this. To be honest I’ve not seen any biting insects about to repel because the weather is too cold.I like the bottle.I hope these opinions and observations are helpful.

The Mosquito Company Insect Repellent Spray - Snazzy Glass Bottle
In a glass bottle now if that’s a good thing or not I’m still undecided about.Of your taking it out and about with you for a day trip may be an issue. For myself though more a case of spraying some of it on whilst in house then going outside to animals. This is where I’d be using it mostly near our pond where lots of midges gather. Not sure of price as none available. It does look like an expensive item though with it being a glass bottle. Not any midges around right now so can’t say it does a good or bad job in all honesty.Going for a four star then can always either go up or down at a later date.
