TimexQ Men's 1972 Reissue 43mm Watch – Gold-Tone Case Burgundy Dial with Black Leather Strap

I think this is a nice every day watch. I have some watches that are way more expensive than this watch. However, this watch stands on its own. I would have no trouble wearing it with a suit or with a casual outfit. I am very pleased.

A fantastic looking piece that's an eye-catcher and keeps great time! The leather watchband is low-grade quality, more like cardboard than leather...but not a deal-breaker for me. The watch itself is great.

I'm old enough to remember when the original version of this watch was available for sale. The father of a friend of mine had this model, and I always liked the combination of the gold body and red dial. OC, his was on a Spidel twist bracelet, which were super cool at the time.The size and weight are substantial, but not at all heavy or large. It does NOT feel like a cheap watch, it's a solid hunk of metal. I'm not a fan of the cheap/thin leather strap, so I found a Speidel 18-24 gold twist bracelet style I liked, and put that on instead. Love the retro look, and it's very comfortable to wear. IMHO, the extra weight of the bracelet helps balance out the watch head.

I just got it and have not had a chance to wear it much. Its very pretty, was well boxed. I only have a few small nitpicks as I own two of the original watches its based on. So only minor details most people would never notice.Firstly they call the screw down battery hatch "true to the past" but the model 62 did not have a screw down hatch cover for the battery, it had one that literally pried up. A minor issue as the screw down one is actually a better design, and was used in the type 63 that came a year later. The 62 was a one year only design. Secondly, the original watch had a very wide date window with very wide numbers, They, for budget reasons I assume, did not want to make a specific day wheel for this movement and made it narrower to facilitate the use of an off the shelf Japan made quartz I showed a real one side by side to demonstrate. But if you want the look of the model without trying to find someone willing to service the quirky quasi mechanical quartz movement of the original, (Let alone find a good one) and unless you are a watch geek who will nitpick it to death this is probably a better choice for most people. This is the watch for you. Buy with confidence. But order a new 20mm Strap. For a nearly $200 watch the strap on this thing is just horrible, it feels like laminated cardboard.

Excellently balanced on my wrist. The larger tonneau case is deceiving; the face is no larger than the Q chronograph. The leather strap sets off the watch's colors beautifully, and totally recalls the early 1970's vibe. The real joy is in the design details, especially when the hands hit the indices at certain times. This watch is a bold statement no matter the wardrobe.

If you’re old enough to recall the Mod Squad then this watch is going to bring back some memories. It’s striking, original, and although a reissue, it’s authentic. Very well made. Timex did a nice job on the strap as well. I don’t have a large wrist and I can wear this with no problem. It is a beauty. I’ll just mention that I also liked the packaging and the inside of the box contained an interesting misprint. It refers to this as the 1976 reissue. Obviously, its 1972 but the little quirk is fine with me. It’s 1970s to its core, a retro watch that will get attention.

Timex quality , bespoke design. A watch so handsome, it appears to be worth thousands. I’ve found my lifetime watch.

I love the dial and the size. It has a nice weight to it. The strap feels a bit cheap so I replaced it with a gold expansion band. That worked much better. Great look and worth the price.

Watch sits hi on wrist making it easy to catch or bang if not careful.....but classy as hell!

I ordered a gold timex wristband to go with it. Easily my favourite watch.

I own 70 watches and this one here is the one I generally like to wear the most because everywhere I go people compliment it. The black gold and red just pop and look super expensive and the price on sale was ridiculous.
