Great Alternative family / Un -PC party night fun game
This is a board game that holds the rare promise of being fun and something different. It comes in a solidly made cardboard box that is the perfect place to store it all in.Inside the box is the folding carboard board, 4 cardboard pieces each with a small plastic base, 12 plastic poker chips (3 of each colour) 250 death cards, 25 Treasure chest cards, instructions and a 20% Discount on a subsequent purchase voucher! So we are off to a good start, only a tiny amount of plastic in the box and everything else is recyclable. This is ideally a game for four players, or 4 teams of 2 or three players, oldest player goes first.Three random cards are read and placed on the board, everyone gets to place between 1 & 3 of their chips on one of the three cards, the one with the highest outcome moves forward the amount of chips placed and the other two move backwards the amount of chips placed, a good easy to understand simple gameplay. When you are not playing take a closer look at the board, it has a lot of funny detail. There are 30 squares to proceed along with one shortcut and one lava spill (snake and ladder) 5 squares where you have to pick up a treasure chest card and a halfway point once passed you cant be pushed back through.I played this with my daughter and her partner and we thoroughly enjoyed it.Because the 250 death cards are individual and when shuffled completely random the manufacturer has made as much effort as is possible to maximise gameplay, over time anyone who plays this game often will gain an advantage but initially only a small advantage because few people could remember the result on 250 different cards from a single viewing, the first game we played (I won!) used about 1/4 of the cards and lasted about 25 minutes to half an hour. Some strategy helps as well as a lifetime of experience but the questions are undeniably challenging. The treasure chest cards can give you an advantage, or help you to push back a competitor that is racing ahead.I liked the fact it is a proper UN~PC family game, we loved cards against humanity which is hilarious in carefully chosen company but you simply cannot play it with anyone young or old in the same way you can this.We all enjoyed it and will be playing it again as an alternative to the norm. The price is about right given the contents and work that has clearly gone into the production of this.Happy to help

I’ve got a lovely bunch of…
Coconuts! Who knew they were so lethal?Great fun family game, or as in my case, an after dinner party game. Good quality product with easy to follow instructions (especially if you’ve already had a drink or three). Not something you could play again and again as you might start to remember certain statistics (depending on the amount imbibed!). This is something you could play every so often and all ages could enjoy.

One for all the family - even the awkward ones...
Choosing board games the whole family will enjoy can be tricky. Once you've got through weeding out those many games that have over-complicated instructions that leave everyone frustrated and bored, that very tall order of trying to find one that will appeal to all ages remains - and for me this is where many a board game comes a cropper.Teens can be especially hard to please. Get it wrong and they'll vote very quickly with their feet. But Death By Coconuts is one game that seems to hold their interest. I mean, don't expect them to look eager or anything. That won't happen. But even the name of this game seems to spark something that makes them linger for the unboxing. What makes them stay? First off, it could be the characters - skeleton surfers in baseball caps. 'You make some mistake gettin' this game?' 'Nope. It's a nice game about.........ways to die'.And indeed it is. Essentially, players take a punt on death stats - so though it happens to us all, this game may not be for everyone. It can inspire a lot of laughter. Don't worry, there's none of those dreadful common reasons why most people pass away. Think quicksand, revolving doors or coconuts dropping on heads. There's a 'Tom & Jerry' aspect to it all that a good many of us, irrespective of age, will appreciate. I really like it. It's something different. I'm not the only one. 'Okay, so next time does this come with a take-out?' 'Death by take-out. I bet that's quite common.'

Surprisingly fun
I have only played this game with 2 players so far but each time it was a very fun experience, it's easy to pick up and play and very easy to learn. This game is also very easy to put away without loads of organising afterwards as everything has a place to go, it has unique gameplay features such as checkpoints on the board which I've not seen elsewhere! The nature of the game leaves loads of replay-ability: by default you guess which out of 3 cards has a higher value, but if you have a good memory and begin to remember them then you could always stack cards and add their totals together on each slot!

Rather dull gameplay
We were hoping that this would be a fun family game. However, it doesn’t seem particularly enjoyable and I doubt we will play it again. It’s definitely on the dull side. Two stars.

Crazy fun for teens and adults
My 14 year old spotted this and we have had many fun game nights with it. We fact-checked a couple of them and the statistics are to our knowledge correct.
