A great buy.
I ordered this last Friday, got it delivered on Tuesday ,which was earlier than expected. Great service!. It was bought to use my Meike flash in slave mode, but attached to my Lumix G5 camera. It works a treat, & I am really pleased with it. The shoe was a little tight fit to attach the the Mieke flash ,but it was not a problem for me to ease it. It is solidly made & holds the flash solidly in place, but fits fits in my camera bag easily. A great buy so far as I am concerned.

Cheap alternative to Shoulderpod R1
Bought this bracket as an alternative to the Shoulderpod R1 rig to use with my smartphone and Shoulderpod S1 grip. The R1 is a lot more expensive for the same setup at £55, and this looks like it would do the job, but I probably won't use it and here's why:The pros:- Very quick delivery- Metal rail that feels strong- Compact & light, good for a mobile setup- Coldshoe on the mount so no need for adaptersThe cons:- The tightening knobs are brittle plastic and very thin, which makes them uncomfortable to handle. I fear they'll break if accidentally overtightened.- The metal rail has sharp corners that may cut your fingers. That second con, the sharp metal rail, is the deal-breaker with the handheld Shoulderpod S1 setup. The sharp edge is right where your finger would sit when gripping the rig. It can probably be smoothed out, but I don't have the tools to do that and I expect the product to be safe to begin with.Another concern specific to the Shoulderpod S1 setup is that the thread on the screws isn't deep enough. When mounting the S1s handle, it doesn't go all the way in leaving a gap that makes me worry the rig isn't safely held together.A few suggestions that would improve the product:- ensure the rail edges are smooth- use thicker knobs for the screws made either of metal or better plastic- use a deeper thread for on the screws- a slightly shorter rail, perhaps 12cm instead of 17cm.With these improvements, I'm sure this setup would be quite competitive against the Shoulderpod R1 for smartphone setups. It's a niche, yes, but this would differentiate this product from its identical clones around Amazon.Overall it is an acceptable product considering the price. With just a bit of quality improvement it can turn into a very good one.

Buy something better quality and save yourself a lot of hassle
Nothing you mount on this bracket will lock down securely. Very cheaply made and doesn't serve its purpose.

It's cheap and it works well
Exactly what I needed to put an extra flash on one side of my camera which has no hotshoe. Sturdy, easy to use.
