I was expecting a different approach inside the book. Really informative but the examples are not properly shown.

Fantastic book
Excellent buy; as interesting and as it is informative. I'm an architect working in Sweden and have found that the majority of books on "concrete" are either purely technical and clearly aimed at structural engineers or are just coffee-table books with page after page of photographs of second-rate Tadao Ando copies and poorly written (or non-existent) text. This book is well-written, explains the technical issues one should consider when designing concrete structures and provides excellent examples (both old and new, good, bad and unusual) which are well researched and genuinely inspirational. The only improvement I could suggest would be a few pages with an index of colour scaled photographs of different concrete finishes and descriptions of how exactly they were achieved. This information is covered a little in the book, but it's a bit sporadic and would be much more useful if it was laid out as a quick guide (and would be invaluable as a reference for suppliers/contractors). Highly recommended read.
