Wisesorb1 Pack 500 Gram Desiccant Canister, Indicating & Rechargeable Gun Safe Dehumidifier, Portable Desiccant Canister, Silica Gel Moisture Absorber for Storage

Living in an extreme high humid climate I bought this in conjuction with a fireproof/waterproof case for my gaming laptop that I spent way too much money on lol. Every night after Im finished I put this in the case with my laptop & seal it up. Its thin shape fits perfectly.

The appearance and function of these perforated aluminum desiccant containers is excellent. The problem is that the two container halves just snap together-- no tape or anything to keep them that way-- and in shipment they snapped apart. Little beads everywhere, fortunately within the plastic bag, but it's a challenge to get the beads nested back inside their container so you can re-contain everything (do that in a tray or something, but even so I had 5-10 beads that escaped the process). My concern is if they happen to come apart within a safe-- huge mess.Good idea, good product, two tabs of transparent tape at the edges might be a smart idea.

I ordered this to go in a new storage shed that we recently purchased. I wasn't sure what to expect, but it seems to do what it says it'll do. I like that it's rechargeable, though I've not had to do that yet.So far, so good.

This desiccant silica 500-gram canister is a nice compact metal container that keeps the beads contained. That is unless you are stupid and poke at the plastic piece that is the window to see the color of the beads. I did that and had to open it up and put the plastic shield back in place using the metal clips on the inside. Anyway, this container is working well to keep the moisture away from my 3D filament. When they change color, it is easy to recharge them by drying them out in the oven at a low temp. The best part is this container is your tray and you don’t have to deal with loose beads like I have in the past. They do have a noticeable color change when getting moisture and revert pretty much back to their original color after drying out. The product pictures are representative of what is received, and I would recommend this product.

The metal container has perforated holes that should let moisture through. However, after putting it in a small basement room that had flooded, it didn't change the humidity at all, and even after a week the orange beads were still orange.So I removed the lid and poured the beads into an 8"x8" cake pan. I put it down in the basement room, and within two days, all the beads had turned green and the humidity in the room had gone from 93% to 80%. After recharging the beads in a 250 F oven for about 3 hours, they turned orange again. Over the next few weeks, the humidity has dropped another 3%, so it's now 77%. The mold has stopped growing, so the mold treatment I'm using is finally working.If they had put these beads in a container that had more air flow, they would've worked better. It was a bit annoying that removing the lid spilled quite a few beads that had lodged between the container and lid during transit. I was able to gather most of them up, but the really do need to use a container with holes that are big enough to allow air flow (yet small enough to prevent the beads from escaping).

I really like the idea of this product and what it is used for. It is a great way of using the little silicone beads to get rid of moisture and indicates when they have been fully saturated with moisture. When I first received the product some of the beads were stuck in between the lid and the bottom part of the container so it would not shut all the way. I went to open the container because I wanted to fix this issue, and I ended up with a million beads everywhere! Obviously, this was my fault, but just make sure you do not make the same mistake as I do!
