DI20B IR Illuminator | Long Range Infrared Flood Light for Security Camera (Black, w/Power Adapter)

This product is amazing. It solves a lot of issues security cameras have at night (see points below and photos attached). The AI4 and DI10 models have a great range in general but if you need to cover long distance get the DI20. Indoors the DI20 is overkill after my tests because the light reflects off walls to illuminate the space. It may also be better to have two DI10 in different locations instead of 1 DI20. The DI10 only comes in white but I spray paint the metal housing with Black Stove Paint. Make sure not to spray the little glass light sensor circle on the back of the unit. Just in case the device gets really hot I know the paint can handle high temperatures. The DI10 and 20 look like a dim red square from far away. - It make cheaper cameras with weak IR lights way better at night. - No more spiders and webs in front of the lens. Spiders try to catch bugs that fly near the IR light. - Even if there are spider webs in front of the camera they won’t be visible as there is no light directly up against them. - Objects close to the camera that are close to the camera. - Subjects have more depth because the light can come from any angle instead of flat behind the lens. - The cameras are more hidden when the IR light is off so better for security.

They’re smaller than I expected but were easy to install and throw a lot of light. The two pictures of the car’s is one unit on the peak of the garage and the third picture is a pad on the side of the garage with the second light mounted under the eave. These are screen shots from my security cameras.

UPDATE #2: I may have had some issues with my first order that got resolved with my replacement, but this update is about the functionality of this item. 1) IR light is quite bright and expansive. You do need to make sure you mount it high or far enough away from the area you want to flood or it will look more like a spot light. Light is still really effective at far distances. 2) Build quality seems pretty solid. The light housing is made of metal (cast aluminum I think) and the wall mount seems the same. Everything is painted/powder coated and should do well in the elements. UPDATE: Changed from 2-Stars to 4-Stars! ! After returning this used IR light, I had a replacement shipped. The replacement was in new condition and I tested it with my camera. Works fantastic. Very bright IR flood light. Worth the headache of returning and replacing. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I don't know how well this functions because I received a VERY used DI20. Therefore at this point I am simply reviewing based on the poor condition of the item. There was black marker colored in on the inside face of the "visor" top lip. Also, there was black electrical tape taped to the front rim all the way around. It was dirty, scuffed, and clearly heavily used. I paid full price for this item, so there was no way I was accepting this used and abused item. Shame on Tendelux for allowing someone to return an item in this condition and then pass it off as NEW.

July 2026 - I have been using this product for 1 year now and I am very happy with it. This light augmented a dark area of my security cameras. It adds highlight and detail to my nighttime images. This works perfectly to add additional IR to your night vision security cameras. This was easy to install. It easily mounts almost anywhere. Mine is mounted outside, uncovered, and has performed well in all weather conditions. Depending on your mounting location, it covers quite a large area of my back yard. Overall, this light works very well and I would purchase it again.

This is a really small light (D120) which is great if you want something that is unobtrusive and works well (indoors) such as in a room at night or in a garage where people keep generators, tools, etc. It really DOES light up the garage for me. It really does make a difference for my garage cameras. Outside, no. It just does not have it from my point of view. It barely made a difference outside on my driveway. In my garage, I have it in a corner and it does a great job. With the garage door closed and the 36 inch metal door with half glass, it does come on so my solution was to put a smart plug on it to have it powered up about a half hour before sundown and about a half hour after sunrise. During the day, my cameras do fine in the garage. So while the light was sensing enough darkness to turn on inside the garage during the day...that is no longer an issue with the smart plug. Maybe if you have a very short driveway and you have two of these lights then "maybe" OK outside but probably not. For outside, get something bigger. I can't stress enough how small this light is...square but about as big a front as a softball but just an inch or so wide so it really is unobtrusive and very easy to hang. Where people are getting it is some kind of miracle light outside for security cameras at night-I just don't see that.

Does not work at all with our 4k ring cameras to help at night and it even made it worse and as soon as you plug it in it got hot so we are returning it.

Durability is lacking, but support is great. The illuminator is incredibly bright, but the photocell is poorly weather sealed. If that one aspect could be fixed, this item would be 100%.

Electrical design: This illuminator uses a switching, buck converter power supply. This is good because it’s much more efficient than a linear power supply, generates less heat, and accepts a wider range of input voltages. From my testing power consumption is stable from 12 to 24 volts, dropping to half power at 10 volts, and dropping out completely around 9 volts. The DC power connector is a 2.1x5.5mm center positive barrel jack. This is good because it’s a very common connector for 12V DC equipment. The light sensor on the back operates instantly when covered. I didn’t test for hysteresis. Construction: The LED emitters and power supply are all on a single, custom PCB. This is good because it makes for a more compact product and should make thermal bonding to the chassis simpler. The chassis is custom, die cast and power coated aluminum. It looks to me as though it was assembled from the front and the front window was glued in place. No screws are visible and I doubt there’s a nondestructive way to open it. The front window is shiny and appears black due to the IR pass filter. Accessories: The illuminator has a female 1/4”-20 thread tapped on the back. The included ball mount is cast from a non-ferrous metal and powder coated. I like the mount, it’s easy to install, sturdy enough, and ought to hold up to the elements better than plastic. Screws, drywall anchors, a drill template, and a stub of adhesive heat shrink tubing are included Optics: The illuminator is easily visible at 100 feet if you’re looking for it but easily overlooked if you aren’t. On my phone camera it’s about as bright as a 1 watt 2700k LED bulb, to my eye it’s much dimmer. The beam spread is wide and smooth, no hot spots. I personally wish it were tighter in the vertical axis to illuminate less of the foreground and soffet, but maybe it was hard to source LEDs with an asymmetric radiation pattern. Water resistance and longevity: I just got it today, I’ll try to update this review in a year if I remember. Conclusion: Seems great, this is pretty much what I’d do if I were designing an IR illuminator. Good job Tendelux!

It's a great light, well made and very bright. It's too bad it doesn't have a high/low switch. I had been using their AI4 model and it wasn't bright enough for my needs and at 20watts this is a bit too bright. Updated: Our NVR has exposure compensation settings. Which, according to the manual ..." Images produced by wide dynamic range (WDR) function sensors can have proper exposure on both the darker and lighter parts of the image, giving more detail across a wider dynamic range between the shadows and highlights by brightening dark areas and darkening bright areas.". Enabling exposure compensation solved the brightness problem.

Used to enhance camera nighttime ability. Works well.

Geleverd met 24 volt / 1.5A power supply voor Amerikaans stopcontact. Ik moet dus zelf een andere adapter zien te vinden.

Necesitaba un iluminador infrarrojo para cámaras de seguridad en un area donde las cámaras no contaban con esa función. Una sola luz hizo que la noche se convirtiera en dia en modo infrarrojo. Incluso los videos de seguridad de noche son mas nítidos que los mismos de dia. Coloque la luz en una esquina del area a iluminar y todo un cuarto de 30 metros cuadrados quedo completamente bañado de luz infrarroja, ayudando a las cámaras a ver de noche. La instalación fue muy sencilla, solo perforar para colocar los paquetes y atornillar la luz en la pared.

As a flood light to light up dark patches that your camera's build in IR can't reach it's OK but not for large or distant areas. The build quality is very good though.
