3 packages and they are huge. The fed ex guy told us that they took up his whole truck

Q: Can you take it apart and store when not using

Doesn't seem like it's designed to take apart for storage. You would have to take out screws that had been drilled into it, and re-drilling the screws might make the plastic holes not as sturdy. Plus it would be a big hassle to take apart. You should contact manufacturer, but I wouldn't recommend it!

Q: Can this be used without the end of the ramp for a shorter ride?

No. All ready pieces fit together to form a secure and balanced ramp.
