Easy to assemble. Took me less than 10 minutes to do so. When moving the lamp back and forth to adjust, it does seem like the pole that goes into the base is moving but I don't think that is the case. I think it is just "play" in the other "hinges" of the item. I love the different lighting functions. I use one of the brighter ones during the day and the "yellow" light at night. I have used it for crochet work and for beading work. I also use it for working on my laptop. I like that you can adjust the light height up and down so that I can bring the light super close to my crochet work or beading work if I need to do so and move it up highter for an overall lighting affect around the room. Happy with my purchase.

I am legally blind and love the brightness of this lamp

I like the small footprint of this lamp. I'm still figuring out all that it does. But it does have about 3 colors of white to choose from and various levels of brightness. I don't see a way to drop the top down a bit closer to a specific area, but it still seems to be bright enough that it isn't a problem. I don't think it bothers my husband when he wants to watch tv and I want to do something with the light on. So that is also a plus in my book. I would have liked to see one more step up in the brightness catagory, but its acceptable.
