Good read, very informative
I really enjoyed reading Silvia's book about Celtic beliefs and realised how different it is from shamanism. Somehow similar and yet not at all. Silvia's book is easily readable, very informative.Loved Celtic astrology part that was spot on on my case. I'm a lot into astrology and studying it right now so it was great to read who I am from different astrology point of view. Good insights and meditations as well.Thank you Silvia Hill for your work you do to bring us information about different subjects, well appreciated.Happy reader and would recomend this book to my friends as well.

Informative read
I mostly enjoyed this book and found it quite informative. It covers a lot of topics in a basic easy to understand wayI think its a good starting point into celtic shamanism I particularly enjoyed the information reference celtic dieties.I left off a star as some information didn't resonate with me personally, for example I don't believe in the 3 fold rule and think you can print off things for your shadow book but the beauty of books like these is you can take information that resonates and respectfully leave what does not. It's worth a read and easy to follow , I'd research some of topics futher with different sources.

Celtic Shamanism.
The book talks about the roots of shamanism, what Celtic Shamanism means, about the Druids, Celtic deities and symbols, Ogham: The Celtic Tree Alphabet, Druid Tree astrology, Celtic animal magic, Earth Magic Rituals, Celtic spells and charms, Celtic holidays and festivals. The book is jam packed with information and is beautifully written. I would highly recommend! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Enjoyable freebie, but not "ultimate".
Great for free, but don't expect "the Ultimate" guide to Celtic Shamanism. This is an enjoyable look at aspects of Celtic and neopagan beliefs, some of which are quite accurate. Ms Hill does state, erroneously, that Cernunnos was an Irish deity, when he was evidently Gaulish; it's quite well-known that this epithet has only been found in France...That doesn't mean that there weren't other versions of a similar god ofcourse, but as far as is known, that particular name belonged to a deity worshipped by a continental tribe. Anyway, it begins with an overview of what shamanism is about, then how the Celts (may) have had their own form within their culture apart from druidry. This is no scholarly treatise, but rather like an upper school project which has its treasures and its bleepers (its inclusion of so-called ancient "Celtic tree astrology", actually an entirely modern fiction, being one of the latter...which section, however, is oddly improved with some nice Yogic influenced meditation suggestions :) ) Another commendation is that there is a list of the author's reference material at the back so we can check out their sources.

Fascinating
I've read many of Silvia Hill's books and they are always packed full of information that is definitely a good place to start when researching the many varied topics she writes about. There is always a nice blend of historical data and classical mythology expertly woven into her narratives.Celtic Shamanism is another fascinating example filled with bite sized chapters that both entertain and educate the reader. There's something for everyone, but I particularly enjoyed the Druidic Tree Astrology chapter. There are always suggestions for meditations, spell work and relaxations thought Hill's books. Reading this title, is like taking a first step into Celtic history. I always come away from exploring Hill's work with better insight and always more questions.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Meraviglioso!!! Consiglio a tutti
Buona lettura!!!

Very Basic
I wanted to like this book, but it just felt so dry. I feel like it was more a basics of celtic paganism in general and not really about Celtic Shamanism. It really felt like I cold have stopped after the first few chapters and gaind the same amount of knowledge.
